    Default 2008 Racing Thread

Ok, I have started the last couple of years' threads dedicated to Nascar and it's series and then one dedicated to F1... In this last year I've seen a lot of people here talking about different types of racing.

    So...

I thought that we should just make one thread dedicated to racing of all kinds, F1, Nascar, Australian V8 Supercar, MotoGP, etc... I guess anything that can be raced is ok here...

On that note, any predictions for next year? Any thoughts? Concerns?

I'm excited about 2008! Hopefully it'll be a safe, fun, competitive year in all series!!!

Mods, I guess close the 2007 stuff and please sticky this... Thanks!

I suggested to OLO to simply remove the "2007" from the NASCAR thread so it could continue on. By doing that and creating this one, I feel things would be cool, as F-1 ect. could go here, while the casual NASCAR fan would not need to sift through several posts to get up to date info.

More than likely it's still Sucka's call, yet the fellow is so rarely here anymore.

Good Idea FD, keep all of the racing stuff in one thread. I will sticky this and close the other Nascar thread.

    I hear ya, fasty.

By the way guys, has anyone seen this? One must admit it certainly looks better than the two vehicles rolled out to represent Junior's signing with Hendrick.

YES, it's a #5...is this for the "formerly known as" Busch series? OLO, do you know?

This comes from an announcement regarding Dale Jr. signing with "Go Daddy": https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/media...660&tab=nascar

I heard something about it but didnt pay much attention. I think Dale Jr, Mark Martin and someone else will share time in the car. I think Nationwide is the new Busch series sponsor.

I am not sure on any of this so please dont hold me to it.

Well, thanks by far for the effort toward sharing some insight for me, as I am totally baffled by this.

I find it mystifying (as well as indeed remarkable) that we've not heard more of this.

I've known this for weeks. I go to a NR2003 painting sites and one of Jr.'s friends Kevin King (who's very well known their) helped in developing all of Jr.'s cars, from the Sprint Cup stuff to his NNS teams so it was known quite rapidly. The drivers I know are Jr doing Spring Texas and Watkins Glen, Martin will take Darlington, 2nd Michigan Race, and Kansas, Ron Fellows will have the Montreal Race, and Jimmie Johnson will take both Lowe's races and Summer California Race. Other than that I don't if that is all for the car or someone like Mears will drive it.

Cool. The next time you catch wind of stuff like this, do not hold it to yourself, OK? The info you could provide most certainly would be welcomed here, and by all means we are not a group of angry piss-takers here, meaning to take shots at you.

Any information that you could provide will greeted warmly.

    Welcome aboard.

I have been kind of lurking in the past but haven't looked at the racing here in several months, and just saw this and said, why the hell not, they would love all this info you guys don't know about. The site I go to is called Rubbin's Racin' and a pretty good place to get info and see the newest paint schemes for 2008. Some are pretty cool like Stewart's new paint scheme which is flat out awesome , or paint schemes that cry bloody mary like Jeff Burton's new scheme.

Thanks, friend. I'd be more in depth, yet honestly I' watching the ned of a barn-burning Patriots/Giants Saturday Night game!

As I stated, your info is welcome here, and thank you for the kind heads-up.

Well If my family and me liked living in Florida back in 2000, I would've been down in Southern Florida with Chef, so I've experienced both the lovely places of Washington and Florida. Plus California and Colorado to add to where I've lived in the past 7 years. Can't wait 'till the Rolex 24 kicks off in 1 month and then racing season is back and get to see the Gen. 2 DP's and see if they are much better than the Gen. 1 DP's.
