Default Car Salesman Gives Homeless and Ex-Cons New Lives

Car salesmen get called a lot of things. “Living saint” is rarely one of them.

" Word of the good Samaritan car salesman started spreading through the homeless and prison communities, and the more people showed up at the Chevrolet dealership, the more Korry Holtzander did to change their lives for the better. Andy Garcia was living in his van with his wife and two little kids when Holtzander gave him a sales job and a month’s rent. "

Ditto!!! And there truely are a lot of people out there that feel the same way, but for whatever reason fail to act on those caring, charitable feelings. Maybe stories like this will entice more people to pick up the ball and get into action. Society will be better for it.

That's how it's supposed to work right there. Very cool.

I have to share a story here real quick that kind of relates.

a few weeks ago, my family and I are getting off the freeway and there was a younger looking able bodied fella holding up a sign that said "visions of a cheeseburger". It was pouring down rain and he didn't have adequate clothing. The marker he used on the sign left the ink running in the rain. He was a mess. Just a wreck. My initial thought was "this dude has no excuse, he's young, standing up and breathing. He should be working". My wife said hey there's a BK right there, let's get him a cheeseburger. My initial response was one of these but I got him a whopper value meal and we swung back around to give it to him.

When I handed it to the guy, I could tell he had some sort of disability. Possibly mental. When he took it, he was tearing up a little bit and it was obvious that accepting it was a hit to his pride. He sat down right there in the rain and devoured it, he was so hungry. I gave him my rain jacket too and took off.

I've never felt so much like an ass for judging that guy before even extending a second look or open my heart to accept looking at a different direction than I normally do. It actually convicted me so much I almost cried because I realized how calloused I'd become and taken my vanilla life for granted.

This car salesman has conditioned his heart to take that second look to find the good in people and build them up and I bet it's become his second nature to do so. Look at the good it's doing.

My boss tells me you can judge a man by the quality of fruit he produces/bears. This guy is producing much. My hats off to him.
