Would anybody complain if Zeppelin opened (not that they would ever open for any band). I don't think so.

Zeppelin didn't stand onstage with that asshole Scott Stapp.

Zeppelin's live show doesn't compare to VH's. They don't have half the energy VH does

Alter Bridge would kick ass. Probably a little too much as was previously stated. Those guys are still hungry.

Most VH fans are really missing out if they haven't listened to Blackbird. On the first listen you will really like that album. On the second listen you will love it. It is very melodic and catchy, and it Really ROCKS Hard!!!!!!!!!

Van Halen and Alterbridge would be the ultimate concert of 2008 if it would happen.

From what I recall, Stapp didn't do much standing, either

Totally agree!!! This album KICKS-ASS!!! If your too old forget about it, but if you still like to ROCK and are open to realizing that there can be another great hard-rock band out there...give these guys a few listens. The album gets better and better with each listen. I haven't been able to say that for over a decade.

I'm 37, but remember my 80's hard rock. Blackbird by Alter Bridge is ballz!!!

I agree, the last album I bought that was this solid and flat out Rocked from start to finish was No More Tears by Ozzy.

This is one of the strongest rock and roll albums ever imo.

Dude, it's cool and everything that you're into Alter Bridge, but I just gave that a listen and it's some of the worst shit I've ever heard. I don't see any possible connection between that and VH, sorry. If that is what passes for good rock these days, then I'll stick with the old dinosaurs, thank you very much.

It depends on the band. Alice In Chains and Velvet Revolver was a great double-bill this year. No offense to Marley, but if VH had any balls left they'd do away with the opening act altogether and play another 30 to 60 minutes of music that the fans actually want to hear. Feel free to turn this into a Velvet Revolver bashing thread now...

I'm with you there. I say 1.5 hours first set/intermission/1.5 hours second set

    Fuck the opening act.

I want my money's worth...it's been 22 years and the tickets ain't cheap. Play every fucking song off the first 6 albums. I dead serious too.

I wish the Scorpions would open for VH. Unfortunately they are already confirmed to do a co-headlining tour with Judas Priest in 08'. The new Scorps album is the best album I've ever heard. I also saw them live in September and it was as good a concert as I've ever been to.

I saw Dream Theater here last year, and the ticket said the show started at 6pm, I thought it must be some mistake but no, they PLAYED for 4 hours.

In and out. I didn't even make that pun on purpose.
