Default Time to beef up the video production

Wish VH would do something on the Jumbotron like what is seen in the Led Zeppelin clips. That is like a show within a show. Great stuff!

I believe VH does have quite a large video show within their show, no?

I, personally, HATE when bands go on tour and play tons of video behind them. It's one thing to show the band playing so the people in the back can actually see close-ups, but when there is video of random crap going on it irritates the hell out of me!! Maybe because I'm a Van Halen fan and a Black Crowes fan from back in the day. Van Halen didn't start having video screens until the RHRN tour and the Black Crowes NEVER use video! I like to go and enjoy watching the band without them trying to distract me from the show.

You're right Van Halen has a huge big screen above them.

I won't see VH until 12/30, so maybe it rocks. But from the youtube clips I've seen, the VH video production looks pretty basic compared to the effects LZ was throwing in there.

Maybe interesting to debate the merits of doing it at all. However, my point is, since it is being done, go all out.

I like the video of the band. But (as lame as it sounds), I liked the BYBBQ playing in the background of some of the songs on the Sam and Dave Tour. The Dahm Triplets are awesome!

Interesting point here. At first, seeing the Charlotte and Greensboro shows, I was a more than a little disappointed they didn't do more graphic stuff with the huge video screen, but now, as the tour has gone on and I've seen some vids from other comparable tours (Police, Genesis, Zep, etc.), I've come to the conclusion that the lack of any unique video graphics or montages is playing into the "high speed/low drag" motto that Dave suggested at the start of the tour. I think that 10 years from now, this tour is going to be looked upon as a very legitimate, impressive outing and part of that impressiveness is the fact that they're not using all the video enhancements that you might expect. They are proving themselves with music and performance alone.
We train dogs for cattle and sheep herding. They're very different. Sheep are a lot like supermodels - they bunch together, they rattle very easily. Cattle are like drunks at a hockey game - two will want to fight: "Who are you and what's with your badge?"

Two of them will be like: "Leave them alone, let's go see the game." Another one is lost: "Where'd you guys go?" The dog has to deal with all of that. You work them off a whistle. It's the original video game.
