    think your hotel is clean????

    http://www.myfoxcolorado.com/myfox/p...Y&pageId=1.1.1

    unbelevable and disgusting…….
    DAVE vs SAMMY

People need to let this go.....it is like comparing an ex wife to your current wife...you can say how things would have be different if she were still here but she left you, so you moved on with your life.....

Same with Van Halen...would they have liked to have Roth stay, yes...but he decided to leave so they moved on.......

and the rest is history….. well until 1996……..lol

Having logged in over 100 nights at various hotels this year alone, I've learned over the years to never take housekeeping for granted. Of course, getting video confirmation of what I've always suspected doesn't make me any less disgusted.

Yeah, I stay in hotels 2 or 3 nights a week.

    Lots on this one.

Big nasty would be the remote controls. People go and pinch a loaf, don't wash hands and go channel surfing.

I always throw towels down on the bathroom floor, I don't care how clean it looks.

Never drink out of the glasses, only cups that are in wrap.

I always check the sheets when I enter the room. One shouldn't be able to see hair in the sheets, this is not the sign of clean linens.

    Of course the toilet seat.

Some may think Im a germ-a-phob but Ive seen some disgusting things.

    Don't use hotel wash cloths.

Don't have hot lovin' relations on the comforter. As soon as you enter the room, throw that puppy over in the corner. You might want to ditch that brown/tan scratchy burlap blanket, too, that's where ALL the pubes are.

Matter of fact, it may be best to buy a pop-up camper or a tent, and find a campground.

I guess you can't depend on anybody or any company to do the right thing anymore. How have we got to a point where we have to force so many people to do the right thing? Where the heck is the common decencey? Frustraiting, I have a buissness and I go out of my way to treat people right, I would not do it any other way.

At our property we use plastic-disposable cups, takes the guess work out of it. If we used glass then we'd have to buy a dishwashing machine to clean them and then we'd have to re-seal them in plastic.

As a guy who works for a major economy lodging I can say that our rooms are clean and that we work hard to keep them that way. Our Housekeeping staff is payed more than minimum wage so we get better employees. I can also state that we in the minority.

Couple of points I need to make:

    1. You know all of these new "Green" environmental laws that state and federal go'bment agencies pass? In the end it means that we have fewer tools to use in cleaning your rooms and washing your sheets. If we were to use the same chemicals that you use to clean your own bathroom and kitchen we would be closed down.

    2. People are pigs. Nicely dressed, professional business and technical people will check into our rooms, get drunk and then piss and shit wherever they feel like it. We don't check in homeless people for the same reason but we have been blind-sided almost a dozen times in four years by well-dressed scat-artists. You know those families who can't/won't control their kids at the movie theater? They are 1000 times worse when they hit the road. They just trash the rooms. College kids? Thanks to MTV and reality Spring-Break shows College kids feel obligated to fuck up and trash motel/hotel rooms.

There will come a day when every hotel and motel will have one of those Soviet-style floor moniters, a person who will inspect your room before you check out to ensure that the room is in good condition.

    3. We have 51 rooms. In two years we've had three used as Meth-Labs. We had to bring in professional environmental cleanup specialists to cleans the rooms each time. As a result, we are considering no longer taking cash and guest will be required to pay by debit or credit cards. We already have a policy of not taking cash on weekends without a credit card as collateral.

    4. The news segment in questio profiled rooms in mid to high end hotel chains. Some of those are Union and some are not, I can tell you that those cleaning women have received zero training and have zero supervision by department heads. Language is an issue at our property but not a barrier, we use a variety of ways to get the message to our housekeeping staff about cleaning issues.

When I travel, I always throw the top bed-spread on the floor and I usually have a spray bottle of 409 that I use to wipe-down the headboard and night stand and toilet seat. I never walk barefoot in the room.

When booking a room, check Trip Advisor and call the property directly and ask them about how they clean their rooms. If you don't like the answer then don't stay there. When you arrive at a property, ask to see a room before you check in, I'm more than happy to hand someone a key in advance so that they can inspect the room first. Some times they don't like the room and they go somewhere else, that is their right as a consumer and it makes me happy to because I won't have someone in house who's going to call me on the phone every fifteen minutes to complain about something.

There is one issue that I have with this reporter and that is that they should have shown that video to the manager on the spot. Not wait a few weeks and then try to contact corperate HQ. This is something that pisses me off, I will have a guest in house for two or three nights and interact with them a number times durring their stay, and at no time do they convey to me that there is a problem with their room. Then when they check out they complain to corperate about a problem with the room that we could have taken care of durring their stay. If there is a problem with the room then pick up the damned phone and call the front desk and give us a chance to fix the problem. Sometimes it's as simple as a light being unplugged and if it's a complex issue we can move you to another room. I have even gone as far as locating another motel and working out a deal where they get a better room at the same rate. If you don't call then I can't help.

Also, we read those comment cards. Take five minutes to fill them out, not every issue is going to be obvious to our staff.
