    Default Nylon strings

I put down my electric a few years ago and started on the arduous journey that is the spanish guitar.

Don't know how many fans of this beast there are here but I thought it might be nice if we could post a few videos of the better exponents.....

I'm more Spanish/classical but here is a link to who I consider to be one of the best flamenco guys out there....

The astonishing Vicente Amigo. Have a look if you want to be inspired or terrified.

Some People call her a robot but I think she's the real thing.

Li Jie. She plays this better than the composer Andrew York.

You're absolutely right Graeme... Vicente Amigo is one of the best flamenco guitarists around today - in my opinion the best. Others, like Tomatito, Gerardo Nez and so on are excelent too, but I like V.A. because he has a perfect technique and his compositions are really beautiful and melodic and at the same time still very flamenco..
I saw him live a couple of times in Denmark and Spain and met him in a bar in Granada... cool dude.
Check out this video... it's around 8 minutes but gets moving near the end. It's the opening track from his "Ciudad de las ideas" DVD

Let me know if you need tabs for his stuff :-)

Glad to meet a fellow fan ufe...
I'll check out the video in a day or two because I am staying with family who have (gulp) dial-up internet only.
You mentioned the tabs, so I assume you play flamenco yourself. I'd love to hear some of your stuff if you have any posted anywhere on the worldweirdweb. I always like to hear new musicians.
You mentioned "cool dude". My French landlady in Barcelona met him and said he was very humble and almost "other-worldly". Of course, her being a girly meant that she just swooned at the guy, his ability, his charisma and his looks, so of course, at the time I didn't trust her judgement.
Changed my tune when I listened to the guy properly. I think even Paco said he was the best around now.
I have never understood why he isn't a household name worldwide but I guess most people just want to dance or sing along.....
