    oops...one more question! LOL

As i can't afford a tube amp and are still a novice player....i am comparing a few amps that i want to possibly buy and need some feedback.

I have tried the Marshall MG series and thought the contour control was awesome as it gave you the ability to go from Nu metal "scooped" tone or peeled back it gave you the old ted nugent type tone.

Would say... the available contour control on a randall amp sound the same?

I have a basic Peavey 112 and the tonal control and mids on it suck donkey! it has 2 settings....scooped and cardboard!!! LOL

if you want something good to play in your room, i use a Marshall MG30DFX with a BOSS GE-7 equalizer going into it.(hoping to get BOSS Flange, Phase, Delay, and Dunlop Wah for christmas) If it's an EVH sound your lookin for with these, i can get you pretty damn close to it if your using an Epiphone guitar (I use an SG) or something close.

I have an MG10 and a MG30 and they sound like garbage. The only cool thing to do is if you take the head phone out and plug it into the 30's clean and turn the 30 to seven, because for some God awfull reason Marshall decided that they didn't want to put a real clean channel in. Then it sounds OK for a bedroom amp.

Line 6 impresses the hell out of me.

Haven't played it yet but check out the Line 6 Spyder Valve. The Valve side is designed by Bogner. I play a Bogner Metropolis, awesome amp ! To get it even grittier I use a Line 6 Crunchtone, this also helps bring down the volume a bit.
