Default Stuipd question about Dave jumping...

Saw VH in Charlotte and DLR didnt seem too energized. Has he done the full on air roth split or even had both of his feet leave the ground at all on any of these shows?

I'm fairly certain that Dave's feet have not touched the ground since he signed on for this tour.

    No.

No splits. Yes on the "both feet" he regularly does spinning kicks now where he jumps in the air.

Youtube clips of "jump" for any of the shows after Philly should show this.

I saw the Boston show and no he did not. Dave is in phenominal shape for his age, but you have to realize he is in his early 50's. Back in 1998 I remember hearing a radio interview he did on a local Boston station and he told the DJ's that he recently had surgery on his knees due to injuries he suffered due to his acrobatic stage moves of the previous 25 years. He also mentioned that the doctor that performed the surgery was none other than his uncle, Dr. Roth. He also mentioned the hospital where he had the surgery done. I'll refrain from mentioning the hospital because I don't want Dave's uncle getting calls from varoius stalking linkers.

There is no need for Dave to do the jumps and flying acrobatics of the early days.

As there is no reason why Eddie needs to run around and jump onto his stack of amps.

They are doing it right...going out...playing kick ass music and not making a spectacle of themselves in their 50s.

I can only hope to be in the shape Dave is in when I am in my 50s.

No one wants the tour to end with a broken hip.

imagine clapton, page or whatever guitarist running & jumping the way evh does. even vai and satch at their age don't do this stuff.

    there's nobody like eddie. nobody.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

His moves have been stiff and deliberate, so you can tell that he's being careful of any stage moves he may make on tour. When I saw the Sam and Dave tour in '02, however, Dave did do the split jump off the drum riser to end his set.

Clapton is a TRUE musician...as much as Eddie say he is a TRUE musician...he is still a PERFORMER and ENTERTAINER...Clapton just goes out there on stage and plays his music...nothing more nothing less....Both are different...Both are GREAT

He did 4 or 5 full on mid air roundhouse kicks in Seattle. Completely airborne.

As someone mentioned, Dave had knee surgery last year.

His heart and art may be young... but them knees are in their 50's. Can't wing it through that.
