Default Anybody been to multiple shows?

I've only been to the Cleveland show and heard the boot from Charlotte. I wasn't too impressed with Daves vocals or Eddie's playing at either. Does anyone think this about early shows and if you've seen later shows have they improved at all?

One of the DJ's on Sirius says that he thinks they're better now than the old days. I beg to differ. Listen to the old stuff (78 - 85) and listen to the 07 stuff. It's a world of difference...and not a good one either.
I can't remember which comedian said it, about the current state of Van Halen, but he said right now, Van Halen is like a really hot playboy playmate with a prosthetic leg.

    BRING BACK THE CLASSIC LINEUP!

I can't even have an opinion on ANYTHING anymore unless it's exactly what everyone else thinks...oh and if I do it means I HATE this album, and hope it fails. Man some of you can fuck off...seriously. - BRETT

"You make music for people. Otherwise, just play in your closet. And how do you reach the most people? By giving them the band that they know. To do it any other way would be selfish.” - EVH, June 19, 2015 Billboard Magazine

"That's a load of crap. The fans know Michael Anthony." - Me, regarding the above quote from EVH, June 19, 2015

I went to the show at Staples a few weeks ago and will be going to San Jose and Oakland pretty soon. To me, DLR was the strongest link there.

    Charlotte

    Cleveland

    Toronto (10/12)

    Chicago (10/16)

    New Jersey

All of these shows had there own special moments. The "high" of just being in Charlotte at the first show makes this one the most special to me. Cleveland just smoked from start to finish, being that it was Roths birthday makes this one cool too. TO and Chicago were good as well....Jersey stands out as being THE show where they were ON FIRE the first 10 songs, the best start to all the shows I saw, to Ed whipping his monitor off the stage in disgust and thus losing the ferocity with which they began.

I loved every show I've seen so far and am ready to go again when they swing back around....

Mohegan, Worcester and MSG. I would say they got better and better at each show. By the second leg they should meet your expectations.

PHILLY, MOHEGAN, NJ, NASSAU, MSG and going to ATL CITY and MSG. Philly was 2nd best--actually the BEST--till the Garden came. They are hot live right now; you are GUARANTEED PLENTY OF TOP NOTCH SONGS/MOMENTS. MSG was top notch throughout without any issues/antics/etc. Philly just had 'something' about it

I think a better question would be: Who has seen the *most* shows?

I've only seen Charlotte and G-boro, but I've noticed several who have seen five shows. Anyone seen 6 or more?

Crazy Levi's been to a bunch. How many for you Craze?
We train dogs for cattle and sheep herding. They're very different. Sheep are a lot like supermodels - they bunch together, they rattle very easily. Cattle are like drunks at a hockey game - two will want to fight: "Who are you and what's with your badge?"

Two of them will be like: "Leave them alone, let's go see the game." Another one is lost: "Where'd you guys go?" The dog has to deal with all of that. You work them off a whistle. It's the original video game.

Van Halen reminded us last night of why we loved them in the first place. They helped us to get past all the bullshit around us and remind us to have a little fucking fun in the midst of it all. - Reckless Fable

    Charlotte
    Philly 2
    DC
    Nassau

    likely for the 2nd leg
    Ft lauderdale
    NJ
    MSG

I'd say that they got better with every show, with the exception of Nassau which was a little "loose."

Dave in particular loosened up (in a good way) a lot as the shows went on. At Charlotte he hardly MOVED and never did a single jump kick. As the shows went on he moved around alot more, jumped alot more, seemed alot looser. He's also doing alot more with his voice.

5- see my post - might be 8 by the time the tour is over. To anyone in the NY/NJ area...the NJ show will be a scalper BLOODBATH. Show ain't selling, and tickets will be EVERYWHERE. Do what you have to to get into to MSG, but don't settle for crappy seats for NJ.

    Philly1 and MSG.
Philly was amazingly special. DEAFENING, Rowdy, ELECTRIC! Maybe it was the great floor seats, but I had an ear to ear smile for the following week. Way surpassed my expectations.
MSG was great, but my seats weren't as good. Great time none the less.
Agree with the comments that DLR was the strongest link. In general, this tour was more than I could have hoped for. May try to score a single to Hershey or MSG. I think I've used up my VH concert sidekicks.

    Eight shows for me:

    Philadelphia 10/1
    Philadelphia 10/3
    Toronto 10/12
    Kansas City 10/26
    Washington, D.C. 11/1
    Uniondale 11/8
    Montreal 11/10
    New York 11/13

And what do you know I lucked out, every single one of them was recorded in 24/48 WAV and put on The Traders' Den

I hope to hit a lot of shows in 2008 too.
It ain't Van Halen without David Lee Roth.
