    Default The Quasi-Official Cincinnati Thread - 03/05/08

It's a bit early but any Tri-State folks planning on going to the U.S. Bank Arena? I saw them in Indy but am thing about getting better seats for this show. I haven't been to US Bank yet since I moved here. Any thoughts on the quality of the venue?

I hit Indy, I have a desire to hit this. Stupid question, what and where is the US Bank arena? I live about 90 minutes from Cincy down I-74. I could do this one and be back all in one day.

US Bank Arena is next to the Reds Stadium downtown right at the river banks.

    Van Halen in Cincy

I saw VH in Cleveland back in Oct. It was so awesome, even more excited to think I only have to travel 2 hrs to see them again.. And if the website is right I could turn around and see them again in Columbus..

Saw Heaven and Hell at US Bank Arena back in May.. was a great venue.. The beer lines were a little slow, one guy was swamped and running the beer line alone, made me miss the opening of Heaven and Hell, kinda ticked me off.. LOL

The place used to be called River Front Coliseum; I have seen the Firm, Journey, and Kiss there. Most of the concerts that where indoors where held at the Cincinnati Gardens Back when I lived there. The last time I was in there was in 96 to see Kiss. Before the show when they where setting up they where playing the Who the time, and the beer lines where slow then too. I like the place a lot better than where I seen them play at in Indy. From what I have heard in the past Van Halen was banned from playing there back in the 80’s. I mite go to this show, but if I do I will not get my tickets till the day of the show.

    Default Cincy

I caught the 2004 tour at the US Bank Arena...and from what I remember, it was one of the "better" show of that tour.

Not sure if I'm going this time....Not a big Dave "LIVE" fan. But I have time to think about it.

I'll definitely be there. I live in Florence, KY, which is only 15 minutes away from downtown. I've seen Van Halen twice at US Bank arena ('92 and '04). Both shows were great. Saw VH in Indy and can't wait to see them again.

I got great seats in Indy, but I'm going to have to go the cheap route this time around since my friends are going with me. I'd like to go to Columbus, but April is our busy season at work and it is doubtful I'll be able to take the day off.

I was just looking on Van-Halen.com tour page. I noticed that the Cincinnati Date Says Wed</td>3.05.08. Not sure what the </td> means, but there are no good seats available on Ticketmaster so I would guess that the show is selling well.

I'm traveling from Cleveland for this show. I saw Tool there in September and I was in the upper deck. The sound quality was bad up there. A lot of bouncing off the ceiling. But none the less I'm looking forward to this show too. The October Cleveland show was stellar. I'm going to see them in Jacksonville on Feb 16th too. It's nice to have family all around the country.

Skyline Chili it is. Oktoberfest rules!

I'll be there in my crappy seats that I had the oppurtunity to blindly purchase a week before the on sale.

Cincinnati’s Oktoberfest is also home of the worlds largest Chicken Dance, or it used to be.

I guess if I want to see VH I'm going to have to go to this show. I live in Nashville and don't want to wait to see them in St. Louis. It's about the same distance, the Nati may be a little closer.

Anybody got any extra tix????? There's not anything good left on ticketmaster
