    Default can anyone tell me?

some of the pedals EVH is using? christmas is coming soon, and all i have my eyes on (in addition to the hippo) are effects pedals and the Indiana jones dvd set. but lets focus on pedals. im gonna buy BOSS stuff (a lot of bang for the buck) probably, and maybe an original dunlop crybaby (i like ed's new wah) and im open to other ideas.

Flanger, Phaser (both signature models), Crybaby Wah, and Eddie has used a chorus from time to time. I think thats it, am I missing something? -Red43j
Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

Not a VH style pedal, but I really enjoy my Electro Harmonix Big Muff.

Boss stuff is always a sure thing--built well and they sound great. EVH has often used a phaser, a flanger, and a wah more recently. You don't have to buy his signature versions to get those sounds, though. You can pay 2/3 the price and buy a regular MXR Phase 90 or just a regular Dunlop Cry Baby wah.

    Default Great subject

I would recommend the MXR EVH phaser and flanger, they work excellent and are every bit as good as the vintage units. A good delay is super important, I like the T-Rex Replica and the Holy Grail is the Fulltone Tape Echo.

Speaking of the Holy Grail, EH makes a great reverb called the Holy Grail. The one I use is the holier grail but the standard one will work fine. Reverb really makes the leads stick out and sustain.

If you need distortions as well I would recommend an all in one unit. Have you ever tried the Boss ME-50? That is a super pro unit and has everthing you can imagine in a well laid out pedal. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

im not used to effect consoles, i tried one of those and couldnt find out how to work it. id rather buy individual pedals and be able to get more out of those.

Then go with the phaser and flanger pedals.

That's pretty much all EVH used (along with some chorus and echo) until 2004 and 2007. If you're looking for that classic brown sound, those two effects combined with distortion from your amp (or overdrive) will do it pretty well. Just don't turn the distortion up too high.
CNN may think my opinion matters, but you shouldn't.

yep...all in one consoles have never done it for me...i like individual pedals doing individual things...a more expensive way to go and certainly a lot more cumbersome but i get way more out of each effect. I look at like this...i can either go with one circuit board doing a million things pretty well or I can get one circuit board to do one thing really really well.

I use a hendrix wah, bbe clean boost, electro harmonix deluxe memory man, and seymour duncan twin tube (best overdrive/distortion EVER) I also have a boss noise supressor and a planet waves stage tuner (also best floor/stage tuner ever)

I used to use a buddah overdrive and I still have it...that was my absolute favourite pedal of its kind until I saw the twin tube...

my xmas shopping list also includes pedals...looks like I'm grabbing both the EVH flange and phase...unless there are better options...but so far they seem to be the cream of the crop...

the sd-1 was rarely used , he also had a boss oc-2 octave pedal.

he used the overdrive and octaver during his guitar solo for creating feedback noise and such.

I always wondered what the hell the SD-1 was used for in his rig.
