    Default No VH mags..!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

has anyone noticed that there have been virtually NO VH guitar mags as of late other than the Guitar World a few months back and a short page article in Rolling Stone last month??? Japanese Burn mag did a cover article on them but you have to go on eBay to get that.... Yeah I did grab it

Why is this? Do these IDIOTS that make Classic Rock, Guitar Techniques, Rolling Stone and all the other million music mags not know that the Mighty VH is out there engulfed in a FULL SCALE tour of the US? I mean I understand VH is not the main flavor of the day but NO ONE can tell me that VH and Roth back together again is not a big deal no matter how old they are or what year it is.... ITS BIG NEWS FOR THE MUSIC WORLD!!! Period....

I am getting sick of going to the magazine stores and seeing all these other fools on the covers of the Guitar and music mags with no VH. I can understand it when they are not on the road but HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! theres a tour going on... Wake up................

    What the hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why? cause it`s not the 80s anymore or even the early to mid 90s. It just a different time and R&R magazines of today are not gonna waste much ink on VH which is a bummer.

Try the internet. You'll find there is no news there, either.

Look, do not be naive: If an artist wishes to promote something, it will be all over magazines, television and video. How else to describe why a mediocre personality like Eva Langoria has a press release each week? No, (reality check guys ) she is not that hot. It's because her publicity folk are engaged in a high-gear operation.

If the VH public relations machine had a pulse and set up interviews, sandwich lines, brochures or even hot coffee and donuts in some major metropolitan hotel, the media would be all over it.

It has not happened outside of one announcement with the four current members of what is called Van Halen at this point on a stage together a few months ago. Outside of that...zilch.

I honestly do not believe that I'm stating this, yet for once: Do Not blame the media.

Like I said....... I know its not the 80's and VH is not the flavor of the day anymore. however............. no one can escape the fact that VH is back with Roth. How can this not be big to the Music industry? It was when the Police reunited... Right? Why not VH? Whats the difference?

I dont know.. maybe your right and people just dont care about them anymore and they are old hat... too bad.

Oh well.. who needs more guitar mags anyways... I have hundreds of the darn things from 78 through today.. I guess I dont need anymore.

The Police broke up and shut it all down. VH kept going with Sam and Gary.
If VH broke up in 1984 and just stopped making music I think it would as big a deal as the Police.

Good time to be a Zeppelin fan. Page or Plant dominate pretty much every rock mag. I picked up FOUR different Guitar/Rock mags in one day with them on the cover.

Sounds like one band's got it right, the other band's - well............ J/K!

It's not like it used to be when all the mags had tour pics and tales from the road. The guys aren't even doing interviews are they?

Guess that porno/PR chick's still doing one bang up job.

Magazines aren't journalistic endeavors. I think most newspapers aren't even that anymore, but I digress. Magazines are an extension of the PR machine in an industry. If they were being fed something, they'd print it.

I think magazines are dying anyway. TV entertainment shows are the thing now, and they're the same PR extension in a different format. Just another cog in the machine.

Hmmm, another insightful post by a newbie with a name starting with '5150." Dude go whine to EVH if you're not happy, he chose not to give any interviews. That kind of attitude tends to irk magazines who then forgo a story on VH altogether. They could write profile stories of VH on the road without interviewing them, but have decided not too, for a reason. VH's sad excuse for a publicity machine is just not 2007-compatible, why bother writing about a band that doesn't want to be written about, when so many other acts are all too happy to cooperate with the media?

And does 5150Rob even qualify to start a thread. Forgot to check the post count and join date...

yeah as chef and others have already stated, the lack of cover articles etc is not a matter of the mags snubbing VH it's a matter of VH not doing any real PR...it's kind of hard to do a cover/feature article when you have no quotes/remarks/reactions from the principals involved...

Quite frankly VH doesn't deserve any coverage because they don't have the first clue about PR work. This is their faults, the music industry has more lucrative, truer, and more interesting stories to cover than a band that shoots itself in the foot constantly and hides in seclusion.

Your opinion does not matter anymore chef. You just told me Eva Longoria is not hot, therefore, you lose all credibility
