Presenting The "Pre-Fab Four": The Rutles...

Pre-"Spinal Tap", the first "rockumentary" brought to you by some of the guys from Monty Python, Eric Idle and Neil Innes. An inspired parody of The Beatles, the original film was named "All You Need Is Cash". The film includes cameos from Paul Simon, Mick and Bianca Jagger, John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, Ron Wood and George Harrison!

Yup, I left several parts out, yet come on, ya want me to post the entire film?

Innes is capable of a remarkable Lennon impersonation, as you will see.

    The Rutles Intro (3:53)

MICK JAGGER ON THE RUTLES (1:47)

THE MAN WHO TURNED DOWN THE RUTLES (:38)

    Blind Lemon Pye (2:03)

THE RUTLES - Hold My Hand (1963) (2:29)

Well it's about bloody time someone dedicated a thread to the pre-fab four and all the remarkable songs they've given us. "Hold My Hand" (yeah, yeah) and the remarkable "Cheese And Onions" will win out for decades. I was just reading something about them the other day.

And please post the Rutle Corps. emblem (peeled banana).

    You mean this one?

Great movie; I even have their two official albums, "The Rutles" and "Archaeology". Funny stuff.

Yup, that one. Though I remember it being more impressive in the context of the mockumentary. Thanks, Padraig. And, yes, Rutles songs are allowable in the Song Game!

Great, I'll see if I find something appropriate for the game!
