    VH Offspring?

So, we all know about Wolf, but do any of the other band members past or present (hey, I'm equal opportunity) have any children, legitimate or otherwise? Either there aren't any, or they've done a good job staying out of the limelight.

Also, besides the Van Halens, what other musical father-son duos come to mind? Offhand I can think of the Bonhams (John & Jason), as well as Joe Sumner (Sting's son) of Fiction Plane, currently opening for The Police.

john lennon and both his sons, Julian and Sean...

julian's career was less than stellar and marked by some really really unfair comparisons to his dad, though he did have a very good voice.

Sean's first album wasn't very good but Friendly Fire, released last year was INCREDIBLE. One of the best albums of the past several years.

Yeah, they recently played here. There are a few scattered clips on youtube of the ensemble, I highly recommend them!

Warren Zevon and his boy Jordan were playing together live for years, before the old mans early demise.

Post '93, after the Learning To Flinch period.

Way more laid back and comfortable than any BSVH situation.

I saw them at The Odeon in Cleveland. Oct. 27, 1996. Father and Son on stage with tape machines as backup. They both played guitar and keyboards throughout the excelant, intimate show.

Warren had a short hair cut, the boy was in his early teens?, and Chris Whitley opened.

Ry Cooder plays with his son, Joachim, all the time and even gives him producer credits.

Pete Townsend brought his son out on the last The Who tour as a 2nd guitarist.

Butch and Derrick Trucks--not Butchies offspring.... Nephew, I think. Not his son.

Mackenzie Phillips is John Phillips's daughter, not son. She played Valerie's older sister on TV, but I didn't know she did anything musical. John Phillips's other daughter (by Michelle Phillips), Chynna, sang in Wilson Phillips along with Brian Wilson's two daughters, Carnie and Wendy.

This was a good question. It's actually surprising how few of the great rockers passed it on to their children. The original question asked about father-son duos. Even among those kids who made music, how many did it with their parent, besides Wolfie?

Mackenzie toured as part of the Mamas and the Papas for a time.

Really? Gee whiz, thanks for pointing that out.

Mackenzie Phillips sang on several tours with her father John, in "The Momas And The Papas", of which he was the founder:

I did not occur to me that this should be so "gender-specific". From now on, I'll endeavor to only name males.
