    5150 Effects Loop Problem.

    Hey guys,

So for the longest time on my 5150 whenever I switch into the fx loop it's very very quiet, you can barely hear it in fact. I've done a complete retube figuring it would fix the problem, but it's the same old thing. Does anyone know what the problem is? Minor or Major? It's really weird, the amp will be super loud when I'm playing dry and then i hit the foot pedal to activate the fx loop and it just goes really quiet and thin. PLEASE HELP!

this is simple. its a solder joint that has come loose or something along those lines. i had the very thing happen to my combo not my head but basically the same thing. its very simple for peavey to fix and with shipping and everything it cost me a total of 75 bucks. pretty cheap since peavey went through the whole head and made sure it was up to factory specs and fixed everything they found wrong. i cant remember the name of the actual part but they fixed some loose wires and some switching thing in the effects loop.

Yes, it's more than likely a simple soldering problem which any qualified tech can fix. But if sending it back to Peavey is that cheap of a thing to do, that might be the best way to go.

Peavey has an 800 customer service number on their website. Give 'em a call.
