Default Sheryl Crow & Eddie Van Halen - "Bitch"

Check this shit out, this is too cool. This is from that VH1 All Star Jam special. I love Eddie's tone here for some reason.

Eddie sounds awesome here. He hasn't played like that in a long time. Must have been before '04.

The info on the clip says 1996 and by Ed's look I would think that was right.

dam thats pretty cool, i have never seen that before
I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

That's the kind of Ed performance where you wouldn't even DREAM of questioning how good his playing is. In those days there was just no debate, he was the King!

As a Rolling Stones fan I have to cringe....how many classic songs does Sheryl Crowe have to crucify?....her singing is painful ...Eddie's playing was excellent, but it couldn't save that trainwreck.

City of Hope Benefit concert was 1996, I actually remember when it was on and I taped the whole thing. I know I'll take shit for this, but as great as Ed was writing and playing his own music at the time, I thought his playing was really stale at that thing. He did the same exact licks and runs in EVERY song he played on. If you saw the whole thing, I know a lot of you would agree with me.

Yeah, yet "bowling shirts" will never go out of style...just ask Charlie Sheen.

Totally agree about Sheryl Crowe butchering the song. She did make me see how someone else might take that song and make it their own, but it'd have to be a pretty powerful someone. It reminds me of the American Idol critique that some of them get when they mess with doing a master song - you don't do Stones songs!

Same goes for Eddie's playing. I'm sure the guitar conoisseurs can see that he played well, but it sounded wimpy to me. Of course, that could have been because of Sheryl Crowe's fronting it. But it sure wasn't Stones strength to me. Eddie is great at his stuff, but maybe he oughta stay away from Stones stuff. (OTOH, the snippet of Crossroads from another vid was masterful!)

Re the bowling shirt, they've always looked dorky to me and they always will.
