Default Wolfgang Special (Korean made) Good Deal??

I went to a music warehouse clearing sale yesterday and they had a quilt blue korean made wolfie special. It was new and I was told had been at the store for a while. I already have a Standard Wolf so I was not really thinking of buying until I saw the price. $265 !!! . I played it and it sounded just as good as my standard so against my wallet's and wife's wishes I brought it home. It did not include the hardshell case but they threw in a Fender gig bag for free. Is this a steal or are these wolfs (korean made, no Eddie Signature) really poorly made? It retailed for $799 . It has grover tuners and the tremolo does appear to be not as well made as on my standard.

I've had nothing but problems with my Korean made Wolfgang. I'd recommend putting a new tremolo on it. The Korean hardware sucks and doesn't last long.

Thats funny. Its the exact same guitar except for the cheaper woods and tuners. the pickups are made to Edtards specs.

But it for $265 and you can easily get close to $800 for it.

Hell... y'all know how much I LOATH the Wolfgang EXP, but for $265 I would've put down for it without thinking twice.

It's still a decent guitar (just a cheapened version of the USA Wolfgang Special). You can upgrade it or keep it as a backup or just re-sell it on eBay and turn a quick profit. (Quality photos of the TOPS sell those things.)

Edtard? What a clown. Cheaper woods=not the same. Pickups=not exactly the same. Tuners=not exactly the same. Hardware=not exactly the same/Nowhere even close.

That said, for $265, not a bad pick up at all. That's a great practice guitar, and certainly gig worthy if you changed out the hardware and/or pickpus.
I don't think they're on par with the US specials, but for that price I can't say that's a bad decision at all. You mod that fucker, you've got pretty decent little axe.
    FUCK THE DUMB SHIT!!!!

Good idea in theory, bad idea for resale. If your going to spend the cash to mod everything on a Korean Wolf, you'd be better off just buying a US special. For the price he bought for (alittle more than OLP) just keep it as-is. It's not that bad of a guitar..........

There are people asking USA prices for exp's all the time on ebay. Some are trying to screw buyers, some just don't know. I saw one with a "buy it now"
    ofr $1100.

They have been, this was a leftover at the store , had been there a while I suppose. I have been playing it regularly now for a couple of weeks, not as nice as my Wolfie Standard but plays better than your typical guitar priced under $300 . I am happy with it . Now I can retire my EBMM and just play my Wolfs at parties, gigs, etc. One tuned standard, one tuned 1/2 step down. D-tunas on both. I am ready to rock !!!

Sadly, people do buy them for those prices occasionally. I check closed Wolfgang listings often to see what I may have missed and get a general feel for what they're going for.
