    Dream Is Over...

Yeah yeah, I'm Mr. Roth...yet credit where credit is due. Listen how Alex Van Halen fills up the holes in a three piece band. There is no rhythm guitar whatsoever to back up the leads, and some of the fills during the changes are simply beyond belief.

    From the "RHRN" DVD.

Van Halen - The Dream Is Over (5:14)
"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man."

A very underrated song in the VH catalog. I think this is one of the few Sammy songs that Dave could've sung with his style.

Band was in the pocket in that vid.

The one thing I always hated about this DVD is the two different night edit's. Just show me the real video that goes with the audio. I want to see a concert, not an MTV video.

I wish it was more like "Live Without A Net".

    Who's that guy singing?
    Who's the guy on bass?

Yeah, I know what you mean. That always annoyed me to.

Anyway, about the video. THIS was Van HALEN to me. I'm sorry, but the stuff that they're doing now can't even compare to how fucking tight they were during this era.

No offense please, but that song is cake on the drums.

Earlier this week I was appreciating his playing on Amsterdam.
    Real nice groove here Alex.

In hindsight you REALLY appreciate just how crisp Ed was playing in those Hagar years. The guy was smooth as silk and really made it look easy.

I wouldn't go so far as to call THIS Van Halen more than DLR Van Halen, but we couldn't have asked for a better 2nd era.

VH with Sam ('86-'96) - Incredible era....."We have renamed this town 'New Halen!'.
VH with Gary ('98) - Fucking disaster. WTF was that??
VH with Wolf/Dave ('12-'15) - Amazing comeback. Smokin' album and tours.
