Feist Rocks! (that 1-2-3-4 ipod chick)

You've seen that ipod commercial with the cute girl singing that catchy 1-2-3-4 song. Some of you probably knew of her before the ipod deal, but I didn't.
I searched youtube for "1234" and found that she's got some other very cool songs as well.

Really really good singer, and she rocks guitar too. Engaging performer. Cool style.

I like this one. "Secret Heart" -
(She does such great justice to this Sexsmith tune.)

I dunno, Wruff. In my honest opinion, she seems to more or less clobber Ron's tune, marching right over it without much respect for the melody of the original. I prefer the subtlety of Sexmith's own version.

I like how she rocks it. The girl's not afraid of a little volume and crunch. My kinda gal.

She's really talented eh? I've considered trying to kidnap Leslie Feist so she can play songs for me. I love all her albums.

She is good. I also really like her guitar tone. Simple with a nice crunchy edge.

I am only familiar with the music from her Let It Die cd.
Ive never heard the 1-2-3-4 or How Come You Never Go
    tunes before now.

You have already posted Secret Heart from L I D.
The song that made me want to give that cd a try
    was the tune...One Evening.

Her version of the Bee Gee's Inside And Out is
    also decent from that disc.

    lol...I wish!!!

I was stuck at work doing 12 hour shifts all summer.
As well as some weekends too.

Even now,the only time i get to watch any TV
is on a weekend when a game is on,and im not
one that usualy pays attention to commercials as it is.

So in my case,it was very easy to miss out on the
1-2-3-4 Apple iPod nano media blitz.

I dunno man. I really like her live stuff, but everything I've heard off of her CD's sounds like friggin' elevator music!

Something is definitely lost with this girl through the studio production compared to her live performances.
I thought the same thing 5 years ago when I started this thread, and it's happened again now with those tunes off of her CD's that Lonno posted. Sooooo sterile and boring to me. No crunch, no passion, not even any guitars. wtf?

The studio version of that "How come you never go there" song which I posted above from her recent Letterman performance is the same story. It kicks live, with horns and bangin drums and crunchy guitar, and even some fuzz tone on her vocals which sounds great. But the studio version is just so watered down and boring. Here -
Kicks live. Boring as hell on her record.

Between live and studio she (and her band) goes from badass to very very boring, imho.
I'll never buy any of her records because of it.

How Come You Never Go There, definitely sounds
better live compared to the studio version.
Which does sound sterile in comparison.
Maybe she needs to hook up with Rick Rubin or
some other producer that can capture her LIVE
    performance on record???

As for me,that cd did not leave a lasting impression
on me,as i did not seek out any of her other stuff
before or after that cd's release...Hence why i never
heard those 2 tunes before now.

Curious to know, what other artists or songs have
you come accross via commercials or during a scene
in a movie that caught your attention, that you prolly
wouldnt have heard about other wise???

Remember that scene in Kill Bill, where Uma walks
into that upstairs room to check out those samurai swords???

That tune playing in the background caught my attention.
And since its NOT included on the Kill Bill Soundtrack,
i had to grab it off youtube,as you can not even purchase
    it separately.

I heard a Sia song in the background of the Guess Who movie
with Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher that i liked,
and ended up picking up most of her stuff after that,
although her new one was a bit disappointing.
