Yeah, that cover was originally included on his "Standing Hampton" album.

It's nice to see him pull something like that out for a show, and break up the monotony of the same songs he continues to play each tour.
"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

"This is a lttle prayer dedicated to the separation of church and state. I guess if they are going to force those kids to pray in schools they might as well have a nice prayer like this: Our Father who art in heaven, and to the republic for which it stands, thy kingdom come, one nation indivisible as in heaven, give us this day as we forgive those who so proudly we hail. Crown thy good into temptation but deliver us from the twilight's last gleaming. Amen and Awomen. ."

"I think it's the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

i heard his cover of Whiter Shade of Pale the other day and now this...neither of them are very good to my ears...but he has great taste in covers...i mean that...both of those songs are awesome. It's wierd, despite disliking sammy's music as much as I do, he seems like a guy I'd get along with.

He actually covered that back when he did the "HSAS" project, and it's on their "Through The Fire".

It's a HUGE crowd fave when he plays it live.

it's always been a favourite song of mine...though I can honestly say I've never heard ANYONE do it justice, other than Janis of course...i love her...not in some wierd way because she's a dead hippie and all...just her music...you know what i mean.

I see that's Indy; got the whole thing???? I took a friend and it was his first Sammy show and it'd be cool as hell to get a copy of that! Besides that, it was a damn good show.

At the show myself and Mikey was awesome. Love that guy, just all smiles and lovin' playin old Halen! Vic did a GREAT job on Here about it later and Light up the sky. Freakin kick ass. The guy could truly do lead singer duty and bass. Great energy and the crown freaked! I just can't see why the dutcman can't seem to like the guy, seems damn likeable and good to me. His chops seemed good to. Maybe reading all the slagging he's gotten(undeserved) about his playing got him woodshedding?

What did you and your buddy think of Mike? Just curious.

His cover of the song on Standing Hampton is really good. I've been listening to it recently.

Sammy sang Piece of My Heart tonight in South Bend, IN. It was amazing!! He sounded like he was 30 years old. Me and my wife looked at each other in awe when he hit the high note. I can't believe Sammy is 60.

Its one of the best, if not the best song off "Standing hampton". I love it, and glad to see hes put it in the latest shows. On the album, it had a sax solo too, and it was pretty cool.

Mikey's the man. Now that I've seen VH07, if I had to choose; it'd be Sam and Mike all the way. Much better show, it was real; they were having fun. My friend has never seen VH or Sam, and he said it was the most fun concert he's ever been too.
