I don't understand why VH wasn't eligible THIS year. Their debut album came out in 1978, the same as The Police and The Clash, who were inducted this year.

I thought the rule was "25 years after the release of the act's first album" for consideration . . . perhaps the Hall committee figured one metal band (AC/DC) was enough for one year.

Bet if they had had a triumphant reunion with Roth in 1996 they wouldn't have been slighted like this. Pitiful.

I wonder if the R and R hall of fame focus more on american bands then any other? Then again, they have put alot of british bands in, just not many canadians. Any thought's on that?

    Yes. <ahem>

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame can rim-job a mad cow having Olestra ejectings after being force-fed 200 gallons of prune juice and and feedbag full of Tommy's chili fries as far as I am concerned.

    Thank you and god bless.

    Default HOF

Who cares really, the Rock & Roll HOF is a sham. They don't have the real people that deserve to be in it. Black Sabbath not in? Cmon, fan or not how can they not be in. Theres too many to mention, but there are a lot of bands that should be in and arent. I won't lose sleep over it.

Yeah, who? Lol. Is that even a legitimate band with an actual
    record, that they made?

I'm of the opinion where if you have to go "who?", they may not belong in a Hall of FAME.

This isn't the Hall of Musical/Artistic Integrity, or the Hall of Obscure Musical Geniuses/Influences (although I guess there's room for them too, so maybe some of those "who?" get in). If you are a band/act that has sold a buttload of tickets and albums to multiple generations, then you should be in the damn HoF.

Styx, REO, Def Leppard, Foreigner - they should all absolutely be in, it's ridiculous they aren't. Is Heart in? I don't even know.

It doesn't really matter, but my $.02 - if your total album sales measures in the tens of millions for a career spanning more than a decade, and you're a known act to multiple generations, you should be in. Not a really difficult concept IMO.

The Rock and Roll hall of fame should be a big deal and an honor to be included. Unfortunately, itís such a joke. Almost nobody thinks well of it. Just looking at some of the names you referenced and compare them to the multitudes of obscure acts that made the grade, makes a person want to puke. What a joke...

Loved early Styx and Foreigner. Not so much REO or Def Leppard, but clearly these four should be in. Instead they will be bumped in favor of a two record rap group. Yep, thatís Rock and Roll baby!!!
