    Default Most rewinded part

Do you ever find yourself rewinding a part of a VH song that always makes you laugh or has a guitar part or drum sequence that you just have to hear again? I always find myself listening to the drum intro to AFU several times just to hear the clunk of the guitar jack being plugged in... or whatever that noise is. I also try to see if I can come in on beat when the music starts while airjamming .. it always messes me up beause it's so odd.

I do that all the time on different songs. Lately it's been Drop Dead Legs, I've been rewinding the beginning over and over. It just makes me feel so incredible!!!

The intro to Women in Love. Hearing Ed do it recently(can't remember if it was the start of one of the rehearsal solos or one of the early shows solo) put a bog ol' grin on my face.

Ahh yes these are all good replies. I also find myself rewinding the breakdown of Dance The Night Away quite a bit. Also the Summer Nights intro. I truly believe music today lacks so much because intro's and breakdowns/interludes are a thing of the past.

AFU rewind for sure! The intro's definitely the best part of the song. The way the drums then guitar come in is great, and the tapping chord progression is gold.

Kimmie, have you seen the youtube clip Van Halen vs AC/DC where they try to play up a supposed rivalry between the two bands? The ending is hilarious where the interviewer gives Alex an Air Guitar book, requesting he pass it on to Ed as a present. Dave wittily replies 'and here is a simplified version of "The Joy Of Sex" for you'. The way Drop Dead Legs comes in at the end of the punchline made me chuckle uncontrollably. Definitely the best bit of DDL and worth the replay. The guy got schooled.

    great topic by the way.

other notable rewinds for me include

    - Hot For Teacher Intro (when I play air drums I often miss the timing of the crashes and the change ups - plus the way Eddie hits that F#m7 is genius)
    - Hear About It Later breakdown FTW.
    - bridge and lead up to the solo in From Afar ("i can't seem to get her out, get her out of my miiiind" - cue multi track solo)

and FINALLY my favourite solo (within a song) EVER

Summer Nights LWAN - it will melt your brain.

I not only rewind a million times after listening to it, but also fast forward straight to it sometimes.

    - The backing vocal on "Cabo Wabo" ("take me dowwwwwnnn")

    - The pick slide at the outro of "Little Guitars"

    - The "Ayyyyyyyy YAY!" Dave kicks out after the acoustic intro of "The Full Bug".

    - The monk chant and Alex's BAM! that opens "The Seventh Seal".

    - Mike's 1-2-3 bass riff at the opening of "Romeo Delight".

    - And although not a VH tune but a kickin geetar intro nonetheless.....the opening 10 seconds of "She's My Machine."

I think we managed to slip some VH talk in, yes.

Babe, that whole song was Eddie's solo.

Oh and then there's Dave's "OWwww-ohh!" that appears in the video version of "Jump", but not the studio version.

If you watch some versions of the video today, the mouthing of the vocals is there, but the vocal is omitted (don't ask me why.....it makes no sense to cut it out).

Happens right after Ed's keyboard solo.
