    Default Cameras?

I plan to bring a camera to the UC, Chicago show tonight. From what I've read, they're being reasonably permissive with fan photos tour. Has anyone else brought a camera (i.e., a camera and not a cell phone)? Anyone been kicked out or refused admittance?

P.S. Who coined the term "The mighty Van Halen?" I use it all the time but I have no idea where it came from.

cameras are okay but they are hard on any kind of recording devices.

as far as i know, and where i started using it was waaaaayyy back in the day, the guy would introduce the band something like....

"are youuuuuuu ready, greater lichteinstein.... (an obscure city on the 1984 tour), i give you.... the mighty van halennnnnnnnnnnn !"

and all hell would break loose....

*brings a tear to my eye*

right now the are the almost awesome van halen

what i would give to see the mighty come back!!!!

They didn't even touch anyone unless they had baggy clothing on or some sort of handbag at the Rosemont show. I left my phone in the car because I figured they'd make me take it back. I saw tons of people with cameras and I'm sure you could've smuggled in recording equipment quite easily also. It's pretty evident that its easy to get recording equipment in considering every show on the tour has been taped.

They don't check us here in Canada and they don't shut the beer taps off after the 2nd period either.

Security isn't into searching for Talibans or WOMD.

I have been to 4 shows so far. There has been absolutely no attempt to check very hard for cameras.

At Indy, I was in the 4th row, three seats from the ramp. My fiancee pulled out the camera and started taking pictures with the full flash. The security guard glared at her, but didn't say anything or attempt to take the camera. She even got a good one where Dave turned and looked straight into the camera when she took the shot.
I don't have a cool signature. Deal with it!

In Indy they said what came for the website that cameras are ok without detachable lenses, so definitely bring your camera but turn off the flash!

I brought a disposable camera in and the security guards were cool with it. They don't like the high quality proffesional or video/digital cameras. The phrase mighty Van Halen was what the bands management / promoter would yell prior to them taking the stage back in the day. I came up with the Eddie is God phrase
    "And the Cradle will Rock!"

My wife keeps saying if you don't use the flash you won't be able to see anything in the pics; too dark. I'm not an expert on cameras but if any of you guys have advice... Also, she says there are disposable digital cameras. She doesn't want to get ours taken away. Have any of you heard of/used one before? How'd the pics turn out. We're going to KC this Friday so help me out soon if you can.

No flash generally works great at concerts cause the stage is lighted.

Maybe things are better now with disposable cameras. We took one to the VH3 show, 5th row Ed's side and the pictures look like we were further and not great quality either. Cell phone cameras actually work great if you have a semi nice one.

flash is okay. as long as you do not have attachable lenses on the camera they don't care. absolutely no recording devices.
