Maybe I am under-reacting but I just don't see it!

Funny thing is...when I was back in high school. We would have done something like this...on purpose...and it would have been funny as hell.

What a friggin joke. Sort of reminds me of a rule here in my town. Last year I bought my son who was 8 at the time a Hard Rock t-shirt while I was in Vegas. The shirt it self had a guitar on it and a skeleton I believe playing the guitar. It looked like a normal short sleeve shirt except where the short sleeves ended the arm continued with a see through mesh sleeve that had black tattoo markings on it. So basically it made you look as if your arms were covered with Tattoos. Well the principal told him he couldn't wear it to school again because "see through" clothing is banned.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.

The news report says that "...many students are refusing to wear them."

WTF is wrong with those kids? Yes, we all know that drunk driving is bad. We don't need some holier-than-thou classmate to remind us.
I'll bet that those kids have gone to pep rallies where they've cheered about "killing" the other team.

On a side note. My entire high school wardrobe consisted of concert t-shirts and t-shirts with pot leaves and/or alcohol advertisements on them and nobody complained.

    Oh, and pants.

I think Congress needs to consider outlawing T-Shirts...

Texas Student Booted From School for Wearing John Edwards T-Shirt

A Texas high school sophomore's parents might sue after the school booted the student from campus for wearing a John Edwards for 2008 president T-shirt.

Pete Palmer, a sophomore at Waxahachie High School, says he didnt think he was doing anything wrong wearing the political shirt to school.

But according to the Waxahachie Independent School District dress code, students can't wear shirts with political slogans.

T-shirts, other than WISD clubs, organizations, sports, or spirit t-shirts, college or university t-shirts or solid-colored t-shirts, are prohibited," according to the policy.

Palmer's parents argue the policy is inhibiting free speech.

Its a First Amendment constitutional right that people have fought and died for and I dont know why he should give it up just because Waxahachie thinks it would be okay or neat for him to do so, Paul Palmer said.

School officials cite the dress code policy and disagree that it is an attempt to stifle free speech.

It was an opportunity for us to continue to try and maintain a safe and orderly environment. The dress code gives us the tools to make a decision on what is right and what isnt, said Thomas J. Collins, Waxahachie Independent School District superintendent.

WTF??? It shouldn't surprise me anymore, but for some reason the incredible amount of sensitivity that people have towards everything continues to amaze me.
That mother in the newscast complaining about the t-shirts needs to be psychoanalyzed.

I can't believe this is news.

And that kid with the John Edwards shirt would have gotten beat up for wearing that in my high school. Kinda dorky...especially when he's probably not even old enough to vote yet.
