They sounded much better on the rehearsal footage. Things are kind of dragging on much of this and the crowd doesn't seem to be reacting much. It could be that to me you can really tell Mike's not there and that's what's making it sound strange. I'm not saying it completely sucks, there are some cool moments here. Little Guitars kicks and several other cuts sound great. Maybe this is just a bad quality recording. But i've got tickets for St Louis and I hope they've got it together a little better by then.

Well I'm not sure how this stuff works, but I don't think you are supposed to hear the crowd much during the songs. Its not like the guy is holding up a cameraphone in the middle of the ramp. The band sounds tight as hell, and when its blaring out of arena speakers instead of a computer, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Well, I think we can say that Eddie is WAY better on this tour than in 2004, but he's still not quite playing at the level he was on the VH3 tour. Nonetheless, still good enough to be satisfied, which was not the case in 2004.

Sounds awesome. EVH's playing is really great. 110% better than the 04 tour. On Jamie's Cryin' in the intro and outro he kind of has a Vai tone and style going. Thanks for link dude.

I have to say that I am very impressed with how they sound. Ed is far and above better than 2004, and that is the best Dave has sounded in a long time. Like how they changed some of the songs around, Dave's ICM story, etc. There are a few places where Mike's absence is noticeable, to my ears especially the chorus to Ain't Talkin' Bout Love.

However, I'll Wait is a dud. The keyboards sound like what they use in a middle school play, and Dave to me is horribly out of key on that song. If they want to slow the pace down for a little bit they can pick a better song than that to play IMO.

But overall I am stoked to go!

Huh? I went at the NC Charlotte show, and listening to this audio is pretty cool cause when I was at the show I couldnt hear how good or bad the band was cause the crowd was equally as loud as the band. And as far as the band getting it a little better by the time they come to your town? wtf? it looks like this is what you get and we should all thank god we get what we get and be happy. Your settin yourself up for a bad time if you analize every note for note, hope you didnt spend too much money on your ticket then.

The quality of these recordings is better than anything I heard on the 2004 tour...period....it sounds like it's from the damn soundboard!

These are coming from the same guy who did many of the 2004 shows as well. He does a magnificent job with the shows. I don't know if he got better equipment or the overall sound of this tour is better, but the quality of the recordings are magnificent.

WTF Did Eddie intend to play the intro to Panama like that or did he forget how it goes, cause the second part of the riff is different, I didn't dig that but the solo is fantactic! I'm off to Toronto for the second show.
