Default The Fast and the Furious 4

Diesel & Walker Return for The Fast and the Furious 4!
    Source: The Hollywood Reporter
    October 3, 2007

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are in talks to reunite for the fourth installment of Universal's "Fast and the Furious" franchise. Justin Lin and Chris Morgan, who were behind The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, are returning to directing and writing duties, respectively.

Neal Moritz will produce the as-yet-untitled installment along with Diesel, who will produce through his One Race Films.

The storyline is being kept under wraps. A spring start is anticipated with shooting in Los Angeles, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Diesel and Walker starred together in the first film, which earned more than $144 million in 2001. Only Walker returned for the sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and sat out the third installment, 2005's "Tokyo Drift." That movie had relative newcomer Lucas Black in the driver's seat but did feature Diesel in a cameo at the end of the movie.

I'm an official Vin Diesel appologist, coz like everyone has a go on the guy but I just like him. Never seen F&F2 or 3 but if vin is in this one I'd go for it. I'm far more excited about Hannibal the Conqueror and the possible The Chronicles of Riddick 2 in any case.

Man, not a lot going for this film. Bringing back much of the cast of the first one seems like desperation. You get Michelle Rodriguez, whose dour and depressed persona makes me believe that she may be pitching for the other team, Vin Diesel who most likely is and has all of the range of a Daisy Air Rifle, and Paul Walker who's best role ever was that of a clueless, vapid pretty boy in Pleasantville and has proven since that he wasn't acting.

That leaves Jordana Brewster, an unknown hottie named Gal Godot and some car stunts to carry the film. Let's hope the chase scenes are better than Tokyo Drift, which looked like they could have come from an old Game Cube.

    Gal Godot

5th Fast and Furious Installment Confirmed
    Source:Variety February 4, 2010

Universal Pictures is putting a fifth installment of its "Fast and Furious" franchise, with the working title of Fast Five, on the fast track. Variety says the studio has closed deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return.

Last year's fourth installment was the highest-grossing "Fast and Furious" film and Universal's top grosser of 2009, making $343 million worldwide.

Chris Morgan is writing Fast Five, in which Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) are fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen.

Filming is scheduled to begin later this year for a 2011 release.
