    Default Podcast Exchange Thread

If like me you have a variety of hobbies and interests (ranging from Fantasy Football (NFL) to Photography and UK current affairs) then you are probably already very well acquainted with some of the thousands of podcasts available on the web. In my case podcasts are particularly valuable since I live in a part of the world where the web is heavily filtered and there is no ready access to international print media.

So I was hoping that this thread would become a centre for exchange of favourite podcasts. Whatever the subject of your favourite podcast (Business, Sports, Finance, Literature, Hobbies etc) please put it in this thread so that we (especially me ) can all benefit.

    Some of my favourites:

    5 Live Football Daily (BBC)
    Best of Chris Moyles (BBC)
    Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders (Stanford Uni)
    60 Minutes (CBS)
    ESPN Fanatasy Football Focus
    Front Row highlights (BBC)
    SModcast (Kevin Smith podcast)
    Oxford Biographies (Oxford DNB)

Thanks in advance to all who participate.

I listen to quite a few podcasts a week, saves me from the horrors of radio. Some of which are

Coverville - Guy does a show or 2 a week, bout 30-40 minutes a show. He'll usually take a theme or an artist and play related cover songs. THe Led Zeppelin show& travelling wilburys show were very good. He just done a spice girls show that was suprisingly enjoyable (I guess because most of the covers sounded nothing like the originals!)

Lyrics Undercover - Same guy that does coverville. This is a short podcast, he just takes a song per week and explains the story behind the artist, and the song.

Mysterious Universe - A 'beyond the news' show, choc full of yetis, Aliens, man eating squid and god knows what else. Good times.

Extralife Radio - Just 3 guys geeking out on stuff really. It's not exactly brain food but its lighthearted and I usually get a laugh out of it, gives me a break from work related seriousness

Gamers with Jobs conference call - video game news etc
A little zen....... Headed your way.......

That sounds like it'd be similar to Coast to Coast AM, which is an overnight radio show here. Sometimes they have good shows, sometimes they read tarot cards. There's good and bad.

One of my favorite radio shows is the Phil Hendrie Show. He retired, but started up again this summer. http://www.newphilhendrieshow.com/ The shows from July are probably crap, but the rest is much more true to form. Phil brings on "guests" who generally have some outrageous or insane idea/situation, interviews them, and has callers who are either very angry or very stupid. Very few of the callers understand that Phil is doing the voices of the "guests."
