Default The VHLinks 2007 New Fall TV Shows Recommendation Thread

Talk about the shows you've actually watched.

Monday night I watched "Chuck and "Journeyman.

"Chuck" is a cross between "40 Year Old Virgin" and 'Alias", lots of action and some serious laughs.

"Journeyman" turned out to be an intelligently written SciFi story about a man who suddenly wakes up in 1998 and then 1987. He then keeps flipping back and fourth between the present and the past. It's set in San Francisco, which is cool and was quality writing and acting all the way through. I'm in love with this show, which means that it's doomed because it's pretty smartly done. Hopefully SciFi will pick it up.

Also, no members of Journey are in it.

Kitchen Nightmares on Fox Wednesday nights... Another Gordon Ramsay show going to fucked up restaurants to fix them. I've been watching the British version on BBC America... Funny shit seeing him rip on "chefs" and owners of various establishments...

Ya know, I sat there watching that show, shaking my head in disbelief. The whole thing seemed staged.

Sure, some leg-breakers are gonna come around, on camera no less, to try to collect money owed to them.

And there is simply no way a kitchen that size, with that many non-working pieces of equipment, served a luncheon or dinner menu like that to that amount of people. And certainly in no way did that obnoxious owner cook and prepare a luncheon.

Every member of the family was a stereotype, right down to the cook. The show might as well have been scripted, and it would not surprise me to find out that the "cast" of that restaurant were all actors.

Having said that, it was compelling television.

ive actually gotten into the whol fall shows thing this year thanks to the ole DVR. Bones' 3rd season started tonight...it was a letdown for me personally...chugged along for a while without alot of the wit that the other 2 seasons had, but alot of character personal story lines are taking place so i guess that explains it.

House also started tonight, good show, interesting to watch while at the gym. Interesting note about the episode, he is playing a flying v doin the ole EVH two handed tapping, the other doc rips the cord out of his amp and makes a coment on how he hasnt done anything in the past two weeks and he goes mastering the Eddie Van Halen two handed whatever counts as something...youd have to see it, but I found it amuzing.

Im with axxman on the Journeyman, better show than I thought, reminded me of Quantum Leap meets Back to the Future. I too hope this lasts and doesnt get booted off for another damn reality show.

Hero's was pretty cool, but i didnt see but one episode last season so im out of the loop but ill catch up.

I agree Journeyman reminded me of Quantum Leap, I loved that show.

    Chuck was good as well.

Ironic at the end of the episode he says "I'll always make it home" or somethin to that effect considering Sam never made it home permanently on Quantum Leap

I always wanted Sam to make it home. A lot of todays current stars had guest roles on Quantum Leap episodes.

Ya I did too, I was sad when he sent Al back...nothing against Al, but it was still sad. I realized somethin as well, seems like all the roles "Al" plays in he always has that cigar, beverly hills cop 2, mchales navy...i find that funny. Now all the new guy needs in the new series is his own ziggy
