I do it everyday when I wake up. I have to make it something I routinely do everyday like brushing my teeth. I also found a lot of new activities on the site http://www.findyourdetour.com/ that helps me change up my schedule every now and then. Who would have thought that Iíd like rock climbing?

I get my fat ass on the treadmill 3 nights a week. My knees hate me for it. Once you get into a pattern, it becomes second nature and you feel guilty when you don't work out.

I've gotten to the point of mentally abusing myself into exercising and guilting myself if I eat too much. Its worked for 40 lbs. before - only 9 months to go before the wedding! Gotta get a move on it. If not, I'm investing in a drill sargent.

Yep. And you feel so much better when you get more fit that it's
its own motivation and it gives you the energy to mix it up and
just stay active. I actually look forward to my treadmill time sometimes
because it gives me time alone to think and/or listen to my latest iPod
dwnlds. But other days I'll lift or do Yoga (swear by it) or do the monkey
rings in Santa Monica or ride my bike everywhere I go all day long.
In doing your own experimenting, you'll find what works for you
and will develop a rhythm. One other thing. No more excuses.

I work at a community college and I take a weightlifting class each quarter. As for aerobic exercise I get plenty of that at work walking across campus all the time. Community colleges if they have a gym (fortunately mine is very nice and all the equipment is state of the art) are a cheap way to get some exercise.

I try to smoke at least a pack a day. It makes your lungs work harder and in turn makes your heart work harder. It's really easy cardio and raises your metabolism. It also cuts out hunger so you eat less, which allows you to drink more booze. Top it off with a poke of the missus and you're set.

You've got to make time to workout. Set aside a certain time each day to workout. If you'll stick to it for 3 wks, it'll become a habit and you'll look forward to it. You're only one workout away from a great mood!

I bought an exercise bike. I put it in the den in front of the TV.

It's hard not to work out now and I'm on it up to an hour a day, seven days a week.

If you have a kitchen, learn to cook. It's cheaper in the long run.

    Get smaller plates and bowls.

It takes six weeks to get into a pattern of working out and changing your diet, they are a long six weeks too.

Make sure your new diet includes some of the crappy food that you love. You'll end up eating less if you know in the back of your head that you can eat it any time.

I don't make excuses and I've been working out 5-6 days a week since May, eating 4 times a day the most junk-food possible and rape me a donkey if I gained a single lbs since. Fast metabolism fucking sucks.

I hunt, kill, and prepare all of my own food.

I just got back from the 7-11 where I bagged a box of Twinkies and two Hot Pockets. As soon as I'm done picking the buckshot out of them it's time for a well-deserved feast.

I hope they didn't see you take the weapon into the store. You might be getting to workout in "the yard" on a regular basis.

You need to find an exercise that you enjoy...that is the only way to stick with it. I have had knee surgery and have little cartilage left in my knees so running wasn't working and I hated going to the gym. I tried cycling one day and now I cycle 12 miles/4 days a week. Kimmie mentioned the 3 week mark and she is exactly correct. After that point your body will start to crave the exercise and you will see enough results to motivate yourself. That will then spill over into your eating habits. When you have a great workout and you are seeing results, it is hard to pull into the McDonald's drive-thru because you don't want to sabotage all the good you did. The exercise and the eating feed off of each other.

Since I took the exercise thing seriously about 3 months ago and the cycling took hold for the past 2 months, I have dropped 19lbs and I just had all my suits taken in by 3 inches.

I think being single after 10 years of marriage also is a great motivator. Not sure how that works into your plan.
Signature not currently available. You aren't missing much.
