    Default It ain't 1985...

Dave sounds rough. Wolf sounds okay on bass, but a little weak on backup vocals. Alex sounds the same as always (good), and Eddie sounds better than in 2004. You have to realize this ain't 1985, so just enjoy Van Halen in its present form and forget about perfection. You may never get to see them again. Hell, I'd pay to see Eddie play with Boy fucking George singing (as long as he's sober).

I'm not saying I agree on the Michael Anthony thing, because I don't. But I bought some tickets and I'm going to enjoy the show. Will the lead vocals be great? Probably not. Will the backup vocals be great? Probably not. But I know that in advance, so I will just deal with it. It can't be any worse than 2004. The fact is, I am a die-hard Van Halen fan. Even at their worst, I'd rather see them than Chris fucking Daughtry or Nickelback.

I've seen some great shows this year (The Police, Roger Waters, Rush), so it's been a good year. I'll go watch Eddie rock out and hopefully him and Dave won't be at each other's throats by the time they hit Saint Louis. Enjoy!

There's a lot of threads that are pro-Mike and anti-Mike. What about a thread that just says "Who gives a fuck"? I can't change it, so if I'm going to be able to enjoy the tour I just have to get over it. I can either stay home and whine or go and enjoy the mikeless version and maybe have a good time. As long as Ed's sober, I'm sure we'll see a show worth watching. What the hell, I bought $47.00 seats - I pay more than that for a meal at a good restaurant.
