    Default Kinda worried for Wolfgang

Ok, you're 16 years old and you've just become the bass guitarist for Van Halen. You're whole life is ahead of you.

When the band eventually breaks up (which it will.....all bands do.....unless you're the Rolling Stones), where do you do from there?

Seriously, any solo career he has won't come close to Van Halen. Any band that he joins won't come anywhere near the success of Van Halen.

This could be something really cool for him right now, but could haunt him in the future.

    Thoughts?

The good news for him though.....he probably will never HAVE to work a day in his life.

I think WVH will be just fine when VH calls it a career. Who knows what he wants out of life? Maybe he's being forced into the VH gig by dad and he'll rebel against dad when he's 18 and get an MBA or become a truck driver.

Yeah, I'm worried about him too...worried that he's gonna get so much MILF ass on this tour that he might be too exhausted to make it through some of the shows!

If this kid has made it to 16 with his head straight growing up around his dad, then I think he's gonna be okay! I think his future is in the music business for sure, whether he starts his own band, or Van Halen slowly morphs into his band over time. A big tour like this is a huge commitment, and for music to be such a priority to him that he can put aside school, friends, etc ., I think this must be his dream! I'll be sure to check out anything he does in the future.

I have to say that I really thought he would never be able to do it correctly for just playing such a short time. He's been woodshedding it or as we use to say "workin' out on the punchin' bag". From what little we've heard from those rehearsal clips I think he's going to be just fine. He's not going to be the weak link.

I think that in time Van Halen will be Wofie's band. It may take 10 or more years, but the name Van Halen will live on beyond Eddie, Alex, Dave, Mike, Sammy and Gary.

He will probably put together some talented people, a singer, a drummer, a bassist and he himself will switch back to guitar and keep the legacy going.

I never said he would be as good as Eddie. But he could be just as good as all of the Eddie clones that have come and gone. I am not going to judge his guitar playing on what I saw in 2004 when he was only 14, like I didn't judge his bass playing or singing in 2007 before hearing him.
But he has a very good teacher, but you can't teach Eddie's feel and vibe he has, thats what all of those guitar players that Dave had in the past lacked and what Vic Johnson also lacks.

His parents don't seem to be worried so not sure why we would need to be. Besides, he's a lot better off then the 'lot of us around here!

Didn't know they had levels of lettuce shredders at the Bell. Thanks for the clue!
