very nice, I would much rather have something that nice looking then the aged ones. I will never understand wanting a guitar that looks old.

yea no shit,i was at guitar ctr today gettin a new guitar and asked the guy about the evh fender and they said they had 2 and sold them, then he says as hes pointing towards the ceiling at a 62 strat beat all to shit and the tag was for 42,000
I used to wonder why he was grinning all the time(Michael Ian Black talkin about EVH on VH1 I love the 80's) but then i realized the reason he's grinning is because he's Eddie F*#king Van Halen

Dino there is no question that you do more than nice work, there are 2 pet peaves of mine one is glossing a frankenstrat and the other is a 5150 , those 2 guitars should never be glossed they wer never ever even close to that, making them without wear or with a light satin is one thing but glossy eeeeeeewwwwwwww ;-), it just doesn't belong, that's just me though, again don't get me wrong the work is excellent and you should be proud.

    Nice Dino!

Hey, Iv'e seen you in the Frankenstraat site andI've noticed you are outspoken on the non-use of spray cans. I assume you use a paint sprayer and use auto enamel. My question is where do you get the auto paint from. I'm looking to jump from cans myself, for all the obvious reasons and limitations in colors. The only place I have around that I'm aware of is the AutoZones and Advanced Auto stores. Do you go to a body shop and buy paint from them? Is there a website you can buy mixes from? By the way if you don't use enamel can you briefly discribe what it is you use and how many coats you typically use per color. I've recently done a 5150 and it looks great(no clear coat), but then again who knows how it will look a couple years from now. Man, damn shame what happened to your VH circa '78. Did you also do the the George Lynch tiger on the Wolf? I am thinking that's next as I love George!

Thanks for the complimets guys ... I appreciate it.
Rols, I agree with you about clearcoating a Frankie ...
That guitar is the result of 30+ years worth of transformations, touring, and physical abuse. Clearcoating it would totally destroy the character.
IMO, the 5150 looks good either way.

    Me? Outspoken? ...
I'm just trying to save you guys from the same headaches and heartache I had to go through with my own Krylon projects, that's all. If you're going for a "relic" look, don't sweat it ... Krylon should work just fine. But if you want a factory finish, I strongly suggest looking into other options.

I currently use Dupont acrylic urethane.
I contacted a few body shops in my area and asked where thier supplyier was. As it turned out, the supplier was about 1/2 a mile from my home.
The paint is expensive and of course, you'll need a spraygun/compressor rig of some sort, so if you don't already have the equipment and you're only considering painting one or two guitars, you may want to consider having someone else do it for you.

And yeah! .. I did the Lynch paintjob on the Wolfgang.
