    Poets & Pornstars

Caught a new band from the LA Sunset strip scene last night opening for Tesla.........Poets & Pornstars. These guys (and a very sexy Sally Hope on bass) rocked! The guitar player is Dutch just like Edward. Good straight ahead rock n roll. Check out their website www.poetsandpornstars.com or www.myspace.com/poetspornstars

Mark my word....this band will be huge!

I thought you were kidding, then I really saw this

Other than that.. Sorry, songwriting by very old rock templates is like re-inventing steam engine. It's not horrid but thanks, I'll pass

These guys kind of sound like a softer version of that band that opened for VH on the 2004 tour. Not softer, but just less screaming...

Have a cool old rock sound, but lets face it, they aren't going to be huge. They could be a great bar band though.

Power to them, and that bassist is damn hot.

Default The Official Poets & Pornstars Thread

Just caught this band opening for Tesla the other night in NYC at the Nokia Theater. I'm not usually impressed by openers, but this band was tight and had the crowd rocking!

The look was throwback Sunset Strip (but not glam), the sound was hard rock, some of it bluesy. The singer grew up in the UK.

I guess if you're looking for a point of reference, you might say Tesla meets Buckcherry meets Black Crowes. I picked up their disc at their merch booth, and as good as it is, their live show is even better!

BTW, if VH had replaced Mike with this group's bass player, there would've been no gripes whatsoever!
