Default Whats Sammys best DVD so far?

I personally love "The long road to cabo" the best, cause its more personal for Sam and we see his mum, and see what she had to say about Sam etc. plus the extras were great too such as seeing the Montrose clip and the "Hands and knees" vid.

St. Louis is great. I love the intro, and love it when Mike comes in.

The Birthday bash was brilliant too. I love Sammys raps in it, and he really shows his comedy side in it, especially when the "huge underpants" are thrown up. Thats a laugh, that, only Sammy would put 'em on.

    So heres my order-

    1. Long Road to Cabo
    2. Living it up live
    3. Birthday Bash
What is understood need not be discussed

"Dont disturb my paradise. I've asked you once. I've asked you nice" - "SERIOUS JU JU"

"I am in a blissful state. Dont bug me!!!" - Richard Dreyfuss "The Goodbye girl" 1977

remember the 80's mtv back stage tom foolery...not sure why the bro's haven't just had someone close to the band sit down, flip through the tapes, and slap together that raw footage and throw it out there for us.

maybe once Wolf turns 18 or 21, he'll get access to that stuff and put it out on his own

I'll go with the Long Road to Cabo, but I wish it had full performances along with the other stuff.

I wish Van Halen had taken advantage of the DVD market over the years, but we all know how that goes.

Birthday Bash. But I'm biased, since I was there

Birthday Bash is far better than Livin It Up. I think the setlist, video, editing and audio are better in BB. I have not seen Long Road so I can't comment.

BTW is Sammy still alive? He was sick last spring, released a new song, announced a tour then vanished in early July. I'm sure he is just 'on vacation' and preparing for the upcoming 10 month tour but seems like we would get some kind of message from him.

I'm pretty sure if I just put 80 million in the checking account I wouldn't be posting anything for a while. Actually I would probably look like John Entwistle on the couch backstage in Cabo on the bonus BB disc.

That always confused me...I always thought that looked like John...but I thought...why would he be there? lol .

It has been a while since I watched the dvd but I'm pretty sure Sammy yells John's name and implies that they are going to play Happy Jack (if memory serves).

I used to have some fan club made live video's from a concert around the time Red Voodoo was released, they were pretty good.

Actual DVD's, I like the sound on birthday bash but the crowd to me didn't seem to be putting any energy or enthusiasm out. I like Livin it up for the fact it actually had some different tracks on for a change and although the sound isn't brilliant the gig was certainly fired up. Long road I look at in a different perspective because it's no an in-concert dvd, it is a brilliant insight into the guys lifestyle and views on things.

Of the two =VH= era live dvd's I think LWAN wins hands down, sheer energy and sing along factor in there. What I didn't like about Live RHRN was all the artsy editting and cut jobs that were done to it.

I'll go with Long Road to Cabo, although they should have included every track in it's entirety. Livin' It Up is a close second simply because it has so many tracks that were so rare.

If you havn't read my other posts...it is hands down the birthday bash by a looooonnnnnnggggg shot. Fill in the blank for all the right reasons why this is his best DVD. Next would be LRTC. There is a lot of variety of things on it. Extremely disapointed in the latest DVD to the point I won't even name it.

    1. Toronto '95. I have it on VHS. But because you can get it on DVD, I will claim that as his best performance.
    2. Long Road to Cabo. Great concert footage w/ backstage stuff. Besides, I was at the first show of the Sam/Dave tour in Cleveland.
    3. VH Live w/o a Net.
    4. Sammy in STL
    5. B-Day bash in Chicago.

    The worst was RHRN.
I don't have a cool signature. Deal with it!
