    Default Noise Gate

Anyone know of any good noise gates? I run a Line6 Flextone II head into a Line6 412 and into a Mesa 412, and the gate on the head is either off/on, no in between, so I need a noise gate that I can adjust so it doesn't kill the note, but enough to take the extra "hiss" out.

The MXR works well for me run through a 5150 combo hiss machine.

The solution is this: Keep continually playing--don't stop at all. Then you'll never hear the noise of the amp.

What's wrong with the Boss NS-2? I've never had any issues with it, works great. Here's how I have it in my pedal board.

I use the ISP decimator. For me it's a better noisegate than the others mentioned. Not knocking them, just mentioning what works for me.

i use the noise gate in my digitech rp80, its very basic but it keeps a 5150 at bay.

It's funny... I've tried most mentioned here and have also become friendly with the NS-2 in the end.

That's cool of all of you that replied back...... I've been working EXTENSIVELY on my sound. And I have one of the final pieces of the puzzle to put in.. a noise gate. I'm pretty happy with my sound, and I've NEVER been "pretty happy" with my sound, so to get there is a joy. Now I just need something to tame it a little. I figured the best way to do it is, since I can't bring my rig to the store, I'll just buy one at a time, try it out at home, tweak the hell out of it to make sure I don't find that hidden number, then take it back, try out another, and move on until I find what I'm looking for. So I was basically looking for the top 5 answers, so I won't try out junk.

What I'm running is A Line6 Flextone II into a Line6 4X12 with green backs installed, L6's didn't do it for me, thus the change. Then I'm running that into a Mesa Boogie Rectifier 4X12... loved the speakers, so they stayed. And that's all I'm giving out A lot of people knock Line6 because "it's not tube, so it's fake"... B.S. As long as it sounds good, it is good... I'll rub two twigs together if I could make it sound the way I wanted. But I love tube amps too, soon to get one.
Cool! Thanks guys...I'll tell you how it sounds when I find the right one. Hopefully it will work fine when I add a second head to my stack that involves MB.

Just curious, why won't you reveal your entire set up? Why the big secret? Most all of us have layed it all out here at one point or another. You ask about noise suppression pedals but won't say what your using for effects?
