I'm realistic about how bands communicate with fans. They can't answer everybody, I just wish they'd give the fans a little more. Like hey! Here's a photo of the band in rehearsal while we give you this information about the tour dates.

Everything always seems like it's just focused on getting our money. I know it's a business, I just think they should be giving us just a little more. Not asking for the world. Like how hard is it to have ONE PAGE on the website that gives us snap shots of the guys hanging around or some snippets of how the jams are going.

I remember back in 88 I sent a fan letter to one of my favorite bands. They just sent me back a catalog wanting me to order stuff. I felt like Ralphy in the Christmas Story.

I think a majority of fans on here would take this any day over the usual no news is good news norm.

That is good idea......a picture is worth a thousand words.........just to see them playin in the studio or at the rehearsal location.....might be just what they need to pump up some of the naysayers

I am sure VH has nothing to do with it. They probobly hired some 13 year old kid to add dates once in a while. They are probobly just as suprised by the updates as us.

Actually, Van Halen is just like they used to be, and that's part of the problem.

They have never embraced the internet as a form of communication with it's fanbase....preferring print media instead. Reminds me of EXACTLY how it was during the early shows (before the net)...you had no clue what to expect until the band hit the stage, unless you caught a snippet of an article in Creem or Guitar Player.

I had the exact same thought upon reading the newsletter this morning. All business. Not even any acknowledgement that it's from a band to its fans. Could have been from Ticketmaster for all the warmth it exudes.

I feel damn lucky just to get the newsletter! I miss the old days but this is good I suppose. Would be nice to hear how rehearsals are going, etc.

Asking for more from VH is asking too much.

How about "we are still looking into other cities....." There are a lot of people who don't live in the areas that have been booked. Give some hope.....
    Right here I say....
