    Default God! LMFAO! Haha...

I really have no idea how else to title the thread, other than "Complete Guitar Retardation". Don't get me wrong, I love my metalcore, but sorry -

I swear to God, I thought he was trying to play this, just really poorly:

Ghost Riders In The Sky - Blues Brothers

I've heard worse. But I was totally gone on the 8 string thing. When did that
happen? I gotta get out more.

Seriously, fuck me running I still have tears from laughing so hard at this. I've heard much worse stuff but not from someone who actually promotes the upcoming CD.

Kinda redundant without the rhythm section. To Dino's defense, I dug early Fear Factory.

They make 8-string guitars now?! What the fuck is the top string then? My 7-string Ibanez is heavy enough.

To make it sound even more 'tough' combined with D-tuning drop C lmao. I saw one band opening for FATA in may, the guy had the 8-sting and was playing pretty much the same open strings *breakdown* parts thru all the songs.

Edited: Btw just checked - that album is released today. How ironic.

I have quite a few students who are into this style of guitar playing. It's not so bad.
My only problem is that I'm getting too old to teach a metalcore song at 10:00 in the morning when I've only had four hours of sleep and half a cup of coffee.

    It's a G.

He's actually tuned about a half-step lower than that.

Just wondering, do you listen to/learn the stuff by these modern bands or you genuinely know the metal/hard/death-core style? Sorry if that sounds random, I never had a guitar instructor so I'm just curious.

Usually my students will just bring in a song in their IPod, and I figure out how to play it right then. There's a logic to metalcore style, like there is to any style, and by now I can pretty much predict what the next move is going to be in a song like this.

I don't sit at home and listen to this stuff for pleasure, no. There is a band from New York called Candiria that I like very much. Their style is sort of similar. I haven't learned to play any of their tunes because that takes the fun out of listening to them.

Why are you pissing on this guy's big dream? Think how proud he must feel to be able to hold an actual CD of his in his hand. Sure, he probably won't make it, but what's life without dreams?

I'm not sure there has ever been a bigger crash between the original and the sequel as The Blues Brothers and The Blue Brothers 2000. Disgraceful.
