Default Question to the European fans

What will you do ? Wait and hope for the band to come over to Europe (maybe next year) or will you travel to the states, to watch them live. Or are you just satisfied with some new bootlegs from the tour ????

As much as I'd love to, there's no way I can afford to take a trip to the States and see them live. I really hope they'll make it to Europe sometime next year, but I'm certainly not holding my breath. If they do tour Europe, I'm definetely gonna go se them regardles of the country.

Let's hope for quality bootlegs during the fall

I think I'll have to wait for them to come over here (I'm not holding my breath, though). Would be too expensive for me to travel all the way to the U.S.

So, bootlegs will be just fine for me.

When the rumours of a tour first started earlier in the year, I was straight in there ringing that venue in Vegas... but now, I've become a little cynical about the whole thing. The shear cost of getting over state side, hotels, flights and the wife! tally up to a new guitar and that's looking the better option

Having done the trip for the '04 tour, it left me in a different frame of mind about what's possible with VH for the future, recapturing VH from the past is impossible, a new twist, maybe, but this band has been so long out of the loop, I've got no idea what this tour is gonna be like.

Personally, I'm not expecting the good old days, with the exception of Alex, the ability and sound is just not there anymore and with no Mike, I think there gonna sound further off the mark. After listening to the interviews etc. I think this 'new injection that wolfie brings' is a hint by the band that the old songs will not be quite the same as the originals, but I really hope I'm completely wrong

As regards Europe... pigs will fly! I've got fingers crossed from the first show onwards, for the fans sake at least.

Got mixed feelings. Thought about the NY show, but then decided against it. Main reason being that last time I saw them with DLR over here (twice in 1984) they were nowhere near as good as the previous time (WACF tour). If they make it over here, which I think highly unlikely, of course I'll shell out and go. If not, I'll have my great memories and HOPEFULLY some quality bootlegs from a tour that defied my natural pessimism.

I was thinkin' bout heading for Chicago or New York. But the whole Thing would be too expensive. As a matter of Fact I will see them if they head over to Europe. For me I'd pick my car and drive to wherever the play 'round Germany. Even England would be an Option. Just because flying to Britain's quite cheap.

But still for me. Van Halen's the all American Hard Rock Band and they behave best in their natural environment. So my Jealousy will never quite go away.

Maybe with the next State lottery. But that's another Story..........

I'm married with a family, no way could we justify the cost of us all going to the states and it wouldn't be fair for just one or two of us to go over. To be honest though I'd be happier if Sammy would make the effort to tour europe.

But when has Sammy last been to Europe? I don't know @ this Moment. Just look around. All these Package Tours like Ozzfest, Monster of Rock, Family Values and whatsoever were all packed in the States. But over here. Winds howlin' in the Streets. Saw Journey (yeah I know, but my wife likes 'em) in Oberhausen and the Arena was only 50% filled. I think in Germany the Concertgoer has tooooooo much to chose from. Even Rush, who are quite big in America i think, didn't sell out one of their R30 Dates.

I don't know, if it would be financially a good Idea for any "small Star" to come to Germany and get lost. I think, that Van Halen will someday come over. They'll play London, Munich, Paris, Barcelona, Rotterdam, Rome and all these other huge Venues. And one of 'em will be mine.

Currently I'm busy with addicting my wife to Van Halen. Slowly but steady it works. Makes it easier for me to get Hold of some Tickets next Year.

Had it been the original lineup, I would have made the trip. As it stands I may travel to England or the Continent to see them, but no farther.

I really thought about going to attend a show in 2004, but decided against it. Looking back, I think it was the right decission. I would hate spending that much money on such trip and then Ed's laying on the floor with his sustainer feedbacking for a few minutes. No thanks. I can spend my money and time on better things. Same goes for this tour.
IF they really would come to Europe to support a new album (yeah, right) I would without hesitation travel a bit around middle europe and see as many concerts as possible.
If they'd just come through with the nostalgia pseudo 1984 tour I would catch a show here in Munich, but wouldn't bother traveling around.

Even Munich would be like 600 Miles of Travel for me. Damn. I will see.

    Good for the Europeans.

We can read the Reviews, listen to Bootlegs and THEN buy Tickets. That's an Advantage i wouldn't wanna miss.

I can't afford the travel to the States, so let's hope they come to Europe (maybe they could play the festivals in Germany?).

Sam played a one-off concert down in London just a couple of years back I think, I found out to late to go and it would have been about a 700+ mile round trip for us. Last time he played up my end of the country was back somewhere around the mid 90's with =VH=
