Default Possible re-release of classic songs?!

Remember back in like 90-something when Aerosmith re-released "Sweet Emotion" and it actually became a hit, again?! Do you think VH may try to do the same thing?! They ARE doing a tour with no NEW music to support...so it wouldn't be bad idea to re-release a classic("Unchained"), or maybe even a killer b-side ("Light up the Sky"/"Hear About it Later"). Question is...What song do you think they should/would re-release?! And here's the killer...Do you think they may pull an Ozzy, and re-record something classic with Wolfgang and release that?! And how many fans would THAT piss off?!?

i don't think it's the greatest idea in the world. If they're gonna do that they'd be better off to record a cover song. Don't the Kinks have any hits left for Halen to record?

The following songs never received the popularity I thought they deserved:

    1. Feel Your Love Tonight
    2. Beautiful Girls
    3. Everybody Wants Some!!!

    Rereleasing these could help.
    Right here I say....

    Sweet Emotion was a remix-not a re-recording.

Well since people like Stevie Nicks are currently having hits with music released over 20 years old yet remixed for the dance floor (and how many copies of these things are actually bought and paid for is another issue completely), anything is possible.

Yet...whether true Van Halen fans will be pleased with the actual musical outcome of such a release is a highly ponderous thing. I seem to recall the Dance Mixes of "Jump" and "Finish What Ya Started" going over about as well as a pregnant pole-vaulter, with the audience at this site.

I would love to hear Jacknife Lee take the original tracks and remix and reproduce those. That's a great and common idea. Not just for old tracks. It is very common for a band to record a song and have other producers take the original band tracks and add and treat it.

    electrical storm by U2

The original track is just the 3 of them bashing it out and it is a really good straight-ahead tune.

The William Orbit Mix made a great rock song sonically epic.

They should absolutely do it from a business point of view. Based on their current business plan, it is the only option for growth potential. Dave is well aware of this if the rest of them are not.

Remixes do not have to equate dance mixes. Most good albums went through many remixes and stanges of development/embellishment.

VH I is just the sound of a band recorded and little else. There is no production there. I would expect some remixes anyday now. Those albums are ripe for it.
