    Default HOLY SHIT! Today's 5 Star Packages @ $795!

Checked to see if they had an on sale date yet for LA and checked out the Washington and Boston shows going on sale today and noticed the 5 Star packages are a whopping $795. I bet the band and ILAA saw how well the first run of packages sold and bumped up the price a cool 100 bucks. The unbridled greed from the band we're seeing already for this tour is amazing.

People thinking they're going to be making money reselling these kind of tickets are gonna lose a lot of money.

I'm fucking pissed about this. I was already to drop $700 on a couple 4 stars (the wife was letting me) and they go and fuck me up like this. I can do $850, but fuck it...I'll wait til Sat. Of course once 2:59 rolls around I may change my mind.

RELAX!!!! It's the last time they will ever tour, so that must be worth something...unless they do a "reunion" tour with Gary Cherone in say, 5 years....
One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

Is there something special in that "exclusive gift bag" that may be driving up the price? I did a 5-star in 2004 and it wasn't $800/ticket. This is unbelievable - no soundcheck? Even if there was an autographed picture in the "gift bag" of the band, it wouldn't be worth it.

The crazy thing is that these will sell out on ILAA in two minutes. Who's buying all these things? Scalpers? And do they really think we'll pay $1200/ticket for these a month from now? They're crazy.

I think I'll save that $1600 (would have to buy two, right?) and use it for a downpayment on one of EVH's $25k guitars... LOL

For that kind of money I would rather buy an airplane ticket, rent a hotel room and buy a cheap seat for one of the shows in a city I have never been to. That is insane money!!!!

good point...i could maybe understand people doing this if there was a meeting w/ the band....with no meeting it boggles my mind how people are willing to pay this when you'r enot even sure where you're going to be sitting.

I dunno, but the gift bag for the '04 tour consisted of some pretty craptacular junk. I've bought better looking and better printed shirts from bootleggers standing outside the arena after a show.

I'm gonna love it when people start dumping these kind of tickets on eBay for below face value when they realize they aren't going to make any money off them reselling them or discover they can't afford to go to the show. Just look at the dopes that forked out $25,000+ for those Fender Frankendupes who're selling them now at $16k - $18k. Nice speculating there, guys.

i don't think they can even dump those ILAA tickets because you have to have an id in the name of the person that ordered them to pick them up at will-call...

this is crap... but it's a result of how much support the first round of vip packages did... that's why they're staggering the announcement of the prices, particularly in the bigger cities, where we apparently have bundles of cash to give away for backstage hot wings...

    Five stars:

    *Screwed
    *Fucked
    *Taken
    *Belittled
    *Exploited

Hang out with friends before the show, have some beers, and listen to VH. It'll be more fun and a HELL of a lot cheaper.

There's ways around that. Despite whatever horseshit ILAA might publicly say about the tickets being non-transferable, under certain (ie: having a good sob story bs excuse) circumstances, they'll do it. The bottom line is the person actually picking up the tickets does need to have an ID.

Makes me wonder if they'll go even higher for LA, NY and Las Vegas.

If had I turned into the world's biggest Van Halen fan in January of 2005, I would have spent $6000 on a limited-edition striped Charvel, $25,000 on a Frankenstrat, $3100 on an EVH-5150, and $1600 on a pair of 5-star tickets.

However, I would not have spent $15.99 on a new CD.
