Default Can DLR still those jumping splits?

I have a feeling I am dreaming if I expect to see that.

I know he still says "look at all the people here tonight" even at state fairs.

Even if he could, it would suck if injured himself the first night and the tour had to be cancelled.

You'll be lucky of the Diamond one gets one leg higher than his knee. I saw him on the Sam/Dave tour and he could berely do a high kick then let alone go jumping off a riser. Hey the guy is over 50 and I'm not saying he SHOULD be able to do it but all those acrobatics disappeared right along with Dave's hair. At least he still has those pipes!

I saw him two years ago North of Toronto, and he did a bunch of kick jumps, and a huge splits one off the drum kit...it was awesome.

well, isnt is possible to be able to do those kinds of acrobatics in your 50s? My hope and prayer is that the boyz are in TOP FORM for this tour, which means Dave spending the past several months not only getting his voice in shape, but also his body. So you never know. I can certainly see him trying. Just like with his voice, I'm just hoping his body doesnt give out during this tour. I'm sure being back with VH is going to give him adreneline like he hasnt had in a while, so there's no telling what he's going to try.

I dunno. It's possible the incredible high Dave will be experiencing the first night finally playing with the brothers again and in an arena no less might give him enough power and stamina to launch him right through the ceiling.

Common sense though dictates that you'll never get those early 80's style leaps this time around. Hell, even by the '84 tour Dave was toning it down a bit.

Absolutely not. I hope he truly believes what he said that this is a new band. From the looks of the stage, he will be able to do plenty of running around which is good enough for me. I don't need to see a 52 year old man trying to act like he is 25. Just sing the song, the whole song, and nothing but the whole song!

I think Dave is in good shape, weight-wise and is probably still pretty flexible, but his one huge flaw is, he's a heavy smoker. That is why his scream is gone.
I'd love to see him quit for a year or so and see if that legendary scream would come back.
People forget, just like Eddie's playing and Mikey's backup vocals, Dave's scream were part of the Van Halen signature sound.

I saw him in 1994 and the scream was as strong as ever. Interesting that by 1996 he had lost it.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

I've seen Dave on tour every years since 1999 and he ALWAYS did the splits off the riser and last year was the first time he did not...but he also didn't do the Jack Daniels jerk-off, which I was quit happy about.

Yes, thank God for small favors. That JD sequence was beyond tired, and a little creepy.

Forget creepy. It's just wrong to waste JD.
