    Default Women In Love

Can someone tell me what effects Ed is using in the intro? Obviously, a delay but anything else?

I would guess a Flanger, but I don't know for sure.

From an interview in "Guitar Player":

Did you double track the harmonic intro to "Women in Love"?

Yeah, I played it twice. It sounds like a Harmonizer, and live I get the same effect using the Harmonizer. I like that chime, clock-like sound.

Eddie doubled the part, used delay and some chorus added in during the mix. --------- JAPE

His harmonizer at the time was a 910 or 949. He would set it so it very subtley added a kind of doubling. It was much like chorus, but without the sweep.

For your purposes, a chorus and delay would do the trick.

I love playing that intro -- very beautiful!

Most definitely. I love to crank that intro. It has such a warm organic tone and feel.
