Default Truth be told, no new album now is good!

What were the odds I wanted to hear more than 2 or 3 of the new songs in concert, anyway?

If they did have a new album out now, they would probably play 5 or 6 tunes off it, and that would be 5 or 6 less classics..

SO....if they are gonna do an album, next year is the year to put it out...

I've been thinking the same thing actually. Let's get the classics served up on a silver platter after all these years. Start giving us some fresh tunes next time.

Um. New music is always preferred. Always.

I've seen and heard the classics. With the classic lineup, I might redundantly add.

Wait...I for sure added it. My bad. How redundant.

When you think about it, we haven't had a new VH album in 13 fucking years... that's pretty pathetic considering the whole Dave era was released in under 6 years...

One of us has to break into 5150 and get those tapes...

...assuming they get em out. That's the million dollar question cuz if they can survive this tour and then put forth new tunage they will have done the impossible.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

For the first tour in a while I'm not seeing Rush because I don't really like the new songs. Nothing worse than having to sit through 5 songs you don't like.

Even if it means hearing 20 you do?

Besides, a song you don't care for on CD may sound differently to you live.

Thats true, I have grown fond of new material in bands after seeing them play them live.

They may not put a record out, but they DO have "new" songs available.

Dave doesn't seem to want to talk about the 1996 songs, so we'll leave them out of the list. But what if they played the new stuff that was in the works in 2000-01? I've heard that anywhere from 3 to 6 songs were pretty much finished. What if they rotated one or two of those songs into the set every night?

Wouldn't be the first time a band had played live material before it was available on record.

Well, that's good unless you're say, an Iron Maiden fan and they play their entire new album and only a handful of their most burned out tunes for the encore. Although I'll add that was a pretty gutsy move on their part. I just wish the last album was on the same level as NOTB or Powerslave.

That'd be great if the band pretty much shot down that idea at the press conference. Approximately 25 songs from the first 6 albums. That's it. I mean, they've been rehearsing for about 4 months and they've yet to play either '96 song and they didn't sound to enthusiastic about playing them. I can't imagine they'll be jazzed to break out one of the Y2K songs considering those sessions ended on a sour note and they seem to only want to relive the successes of the original lineup, not the failures.
