Default How will they make the Chorus/Harmonics?

I know that this discussion have been here before, but I could'nt fint the particular thread, so I'm sorry if this bother you.

But do we have any idéa of how they will make the high notes, which our own cannonmouth use to take? Will the chorus be the same, do you think wolfie is a high singer?

Or the second option; will they use prerecorded material, or a female singers voice?

    Thank you for your responding!

Ed and Wolf will do it - maybe with some help piped in. Dave did make a point of saying the vocals were better than ever.

Dude, quick lesson on musical terms: harmonics are very different from harmonies. Mike sang the harmonies.

He did however provide the harmonics at the start of 'Dirty Movies' or at least I hope he did, maybe Ed had already started laying down the bass tracks by then.

    Indeed those were harmonics!

Well, from what I heard, Mike's prerecorded vocals will be piped through to give it that "Classic Van Halen sound". No Bullshit.

That's just a rumor at this point. And it seems like kind of an unlikely one.

If they do indeed use MA's b-vox, I can say it will push me over the edge, personally. I don't expect or ask much of VH, but to remove Mike from the original album covers but still use his voice live would be, to me, the ultimate slam and a complete belittling of MA's value and VH contribution.

MelodicRock.com reported last week that Ed, Wolf and Al recorded some backing track that will be piped in. But if Wolf has the pipes then I'm not sure if they'll be used.

At least one other person has to be singing along with Mike for it to be called a harmony. Mike singing to cover Sammy's butt on the last couple of tours doesn't count.

Agreed. Why are we, as fans, expected to buy every iteration of this band (with EVH's exaggerations) and accept its entire catalogue when the brothers don't? I hate to say it, but taking Mikey off the first cover like that is becoming par for the brothers.

If that is the case, that will suck because that means each song has to be played exactly the same every night with little to no improvising.

I as big a fan of Dave as anybody, but saying that Mike covers for Sam live but is not needed for Dave is quite a stretch.

Most bands DO the same show every night with little or NO improvising! That's what rehersals are for before the tour goes out! However, they can still use samples of background VOX, it's not on tape like most of you think. All you have to do is have an off stage keyboardist hit a key and out come the Vocals! "and the monkey flips the switch!" ....
