By looking at the seating chart on ebay where it lists those tickets, I wouldn't pay more than 100 bucks a piece for those...

That person or rather that ticket agency has season seats. You notice there's no photo of the actual tickets as they haven't even been released yet. And nearly $1,800 for the middle of the floor? LOL! He's hoping some dumbass with a lot of money to burn is gonna use Buy It Now. Getting prime seats for this tour for any city or venue shouldn't more than a few hundred bucks. I see no problem getting in the GA ring or sitting anywhere I want for under $400 absolute tops.

I know from the other thread they're paying for ad space on your site, but they're a ticket agency selling tickets for a *lot* more than face value.

Fact is, man, agencies still do a brisk biz 'cause like it or lump it, they collect premium seats and offer more options that other sources don't. Sure, eBay and ILAA and TM/Live Nation auctions can often offer equivalent seating, but brokers still tend to garner the lion's share of the best seats in the house, 'cause they frequently have their lackeys line up, queue in online sales, and buy up the cheaper sources as they become available. Not that I'm hyping brokers, not in the least. But sometimes they still offer concert experiences you can't get anywhere else unless you know somebody or get real lucky.

I am very new to the ticket broker thing and will have to explore info here to get caught up. I know if I have to sit online with Ticketmaster and get $125 can-use-my-thumb-to-cover-up-the-band-members seats again for this or any other concert I'm gonna be irritated. Scalping just became legal in MN as of 8/1, and the newspaper suggested it would make things easier to get tickets cheaper. That part confused me.

I have no problem with paying extra to a broker for better seats. Less hassle and you don't have to kill time with TicketMaster. I remember spending the night with some friends in the San Diego Sports Arena parking lot in 1984 for VH tickets. That was a lot of fun and I got great seats, but I'm too old to do sh*t like that now and my time is more valuable. I'll let someone else do that and pay the price. Convenience.

Last time I used a ticket broker it was for the FUCK tour and got front row on Mikes side for $175.00 each. Kicker was AIC opening.

I don't often use them unless it's a band I particularly want to see up close and personal, don't get me wrong. But yeah, I don't have a problem paying more for first three rows front and center either.

Concert proximity does make a difference in the live experience. Believe it. If you're there just to hear the tuneage from the nosebleeds...that's what CDs and bootlegs are for.

I gotta agree, nose bleeds suck. After getting good seats to shows all the time, seats where you can make out the facial expressions of the band members, it really sucks to have seats that are not near the stage. If I can't be up close than I will go for seats near the sound board. Atleast there the sound will have a nice mix to it.
