Default HERESAY (Until Proven Otherwise) From The Velvet Rope

As you may know, The Velvet Rope is a forum for music industry insiders. Withiin a thread regarding the VH shows, a person who works for a Southern venue posted the following:

Looks like rehearsals are taking place in Greensboro, NC as well as the first show, some time close to mid October... I'm also told that there are no where NEAR 50 dates in the books for this first run. VH will likely announce 12-18 on Monday. Floor seats @ $200 and $60 to get in the door

Take it for what it's worth...I am but a messenger.

If you were implying that I work for them???? NOT IN A BILLION FUCKING YEARS!!! They couldn't pay me enough money!!!! I would rather watch the circus from the bleechers, it's more fun that way! Or at least it WOULD BE if Van Halfass would call Michael and ask him to do the tour!

Greensboro is where they started the '04 tour--because they could set up and rehearse there for the week beforehand.

And it was so freakin' loud, if ya didn't know what they were playing, it would have been hard to figure out what they were playing. If that makes any sense. Basketball arenas and rock don't always get along.

Every show was reported to be half full. Each show review contained one opinion that the place was empty. Each show review contained an opinion that the place was packed......but the Pollstar numbers didn't lie....a few places were half full, but most markets had a good turnout...but I'm sure many would argue those tickets were all "comps"

The 2004 tour was a bit on the soft side for ticket sales....one can blame it on the lineup, ticket prices.....but in the end it still pulled in 40 million.

Not sure I'm going to pay $200 for the floor...and my kids middle name is Halen..
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

Pumkinhead isn't smart enough to work with Van Halen. And after all the Eddie bashing he does, Ed would never have it.

I paid $150 for crap-ola seats to see The Police. $200 for the VH floor after all these years is a bargain. How much were those 5-star tickets in 2004?

    Also

For relativity sake, and honestly I don't care either way but the 2004 tour took 80 shows to genrate 40Mill, and they are projecting the 2007 tour of 50 shows to gross 70Mill. We'll see how close the projections come.
