    Default Alcohol-Free Tour?

Do you think one of the conditions on which they are touring is that there will be a zero alcohol policy on the bus, plane, backstage or onstage? Also, what do you think the chances are that this tour is happening way too soon for Eddie? I know this has been discussed here before but how difficult is it going to be for him to go an entire tour without drinking? And what about Dave? Dave's not gonna have his jack daniels and he's not going to be allowed to drink in front of Eddie. I'm definitely going to this tour I just hope that we don't see Ed self destruct as the tour progresses. My guess is that Dave realizes he has too much to lose by fucking this one up, and he'll be on the straight and narrow and basically be working for Eddie Van Halen.

Val will have people watching, if Edward falls off the wagon even once, like he did 2 days out of rehab for instance, then that's it folks, go home!!!! The tour is OVER! See Bradman@Van-Halen.com for your ticket refunds!

Somehow they've revamped The idea of Van Halen to their liking.

They have decided that what they think is good should be taken out and exploited.

    They...?

I think it well be an alcohol free tour as it should be, for more reasons than because of EVH’s problem. Dave will be just fine with this IMO, and as long as people in the crowed can drink it well be, a great time. As far as EVH getting back out on the road and touring to soon, I don’t buy that for one minute. Lots of people battle drug and alcohol dependency and have to get back up and go to work. Should the guy just set around with nothing to do? That is going to make him want to drink more than getting back out there and going to work.

Can you imagine the disappointment Wolfgang must be feeling? He's read DLR's book, heard about all the sex, drugs, etc included with a VH tour...now's he's IN THE BAND, and Mom and Dad are gonna make sure he's tucked in by midnight.
But seriously, a booze-free tour might be the only way this thing makes it. We all saw in 04 what happens when Ed gets a little too tipsy before a show.

Well, the audience had better be sloshed.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

If they didn't sell alcohol at the shows either:

    1. Everybody would sneak in flasks
    2. Nobody would show up.

If anyone watched Sammy's DVD when he was on tour with Dave, apparently Dave has zero tolerance with his band being drunk, or drinking before the performance. I also believe that there isn't any Jack in the Jack Daniels.

So i'd say if anything, Dave and Ed would be ok as far as not drinking. Its more of without the booze, both will get are look at who the other person really is, good or bad.

I think #2 is a possibility either way! In 2004, the only city that had a 2nd night added that I know of was Phila, PA, and the second night was only half full. After that shit assed performance by Edward, I don't see how people would be willing to waste their hard earned $$$ yet again, unless Michael is there, they use their old production company and not those pillow biteing ass clowns they used in 2004, Ed is at least somewhat sober & playing like he's on fire & wireless, ect, ect... There was just so much in 2004 that was WRONG, that unless they do this RIGHT, I just have zero interest in it!!!! So, I keep hoping though, yea, maybe I am an Iddiot, but I keep hoping!

Vegas and Chicago had 2 dates each.

I was at the 2 in Chicago. First night packed, second night I'd say 75% full.

Vegas I was at the first night sold out. No idea how night #2 was.
