    Default "Damn Good"

Picture this in your mind for a second.

The band's main set is over, the crowd is cheering for more. Then Dave and Eddie walk out alone for the first encore song with Eddie holding an accoustic guitar.
They sit down on a couple of stools (ala EVH and Cherone). Ed starts playing "Damn Good" and Dave sings the lyrics while a photo montage plays on the big screen of pics from the "old" days.

Then they rip into JUMP and end the show with UNCHAINED.
'Old Van Halen, when I was in it-classic Van Halen-makes you wanna drink, dance and screw, right? And the new Van Halen encourages you to drink milk, drive a Nissan and have a relationship.' - David Lee Roth.

Hell yeah. I WISH but I SERIOUSLY doubt it'll happen...

I think I'll go pop that tune in the ol' disc deck...

Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Although interesting scenario, this will not happen.

There will be no Dave solo cuts, just CLASSIC VH material. There won't even be Me Wise Magic or CGTSNM.

Aside from the potential of debuting some new material (which is possible), the set list will be strictly 1978-1984 (or they could even play some pre-78, unreleased stuff; ie: "Big Trouble", "Down in Flames",etc.)

Or, they'll use those songs as new material.

Would it surprise you if they did that? Sure as hell wouldn't surprise me.

Of course, if that highly improbable scenario actually did happen, they'll have to make sure they get someone to Photoshop Mike out of the photo montage. After all, they wouldn't want that hack of a bass player and background vocalist tarnishing their memories of the good 'ol days would they?

BTW, "rip into Jump." You continue to amaze me with your vision of what VH is all about. Why don't you tell us more about the female backgroud singers (ala Motley Crue circa 1987) you hope to see on this tour because Mike won't be there to sing the background vocals?

Didn't Ed and Al acquire the rights to Damn Good during Dave's royalties suit?

After 20 odd years, I wouldn't want to waste any space during the set for DLR solo tunes.(Or four solos for that matter). There are bound to be plenty of great CVH tunes that will be left out of the set as is.

As DR pointed out too, any video trip down memory lane is going to be pretty awkward if Mike's not up there.

Not that it isn't awkward enough already.

I mentioned that last week. That would be cool if Dave has to do a solo spot or if they wanted Ed and Dave to play something together.

Ugh. I'm a huge Cruehead, but Jesus Christ, those chicks were AWFUL

From what I could remember, they weren't even that hot either.

You really think Ed's gonna let Dave solo? He's not even letting the guy talk right now.

Watch. Wolfie's solo will be 45 minutes.
