Default Little help with Cabo, San Lucas...

So we've seriously considered looking at Cabo San Lucas as a honeymoon spot. However, I feel bad, as I am a Van Halen fan and she is not. I dont want her to feel left out. So my question is, besides Cabo Wabo, what else is there to do in that beautiful city?

There's a lot more to do. It's beautiful there. As far as the Van Halen thing being overwhelming--it's just a club/restaurant. I mean it's a great place of course, but it won't be the only place you go to while you're there. A friend of mine went there on his honeymoon and his wife wasn't big into VH, and she had a great time.
Hey, it's still a vacation, right? Go and Enjoy.

...you just might have to change your itinerary around if Sammy is there while you are there.

Dude..go!!! I've been 3 times, actually one of them was my honeymoon! Tons of great hotels (our last visit we stayed at the Riu Palace about 4km outside of town), amazing restaurants, nice beaches, boat tours to Land's End and Lover's Beach, lots of good shopping in the market, it's endless...good nightlife too (not just the CW Cantina) at places like Squid Roe...also go to Rip's Bar in the Plaza de los Mariachis outside the back entrance to Sammy's place...cool little outdoor courtyard horseshoe bar...cheap beer! you won't regret choosing Cabo for a honeymoon destination...
...and in the end, on dreams we will depend...

My wife and I honeymooned there. Of course, I told her about the cantina, but since she really didn't know much about it she didn't mind at all.

The place is beautiful. Clean beaches with crystal clear water and bitchin' rock formations. We stayed at the Marina Fiesta, which I highly recommend. Its walking distance to the cabo wabo, the beach, and every other place you could want to go. And it has a sweet pool with a bar you can swim up to and charge the drinks to your room.

Highly recommended!!!! Even if she isn't a big Hagar/Van Halen fan, she will enjoy the Cabo Wabo. The food is excellent and the club is a lot of fun even with the house band. There are so many other things to do, it's only one little part. There are some very nice all-inclusive places to stay on the beach that might be more romantic for a honeymoon. Or you could rent a nice house and have a private place with your own pool. That's what we usually do.

I agree that you must visit Rip's Bar just outside the back entrance to the Cabo Wabo. We always have a great time there.

Oh, and next to Rip's bar outside the CW in the Plaza is the Jungle Bar...I like it even better than Rip's! If you like shots, it's the place to go...some of them are only a buck!!! When you get hungry, stumble over to El Taco Loco!!!

Be forewarned, KT, Taco Loco has raised its prices. It's now 4 tacos and a beer for SEVEN bucks (up from six). I was appalled!

Kidding. Still one of the best meal deals there.

My lovely bride and I just returned from our 6th trip to Cabo. It's not a Van Halen town. If you've never heard of Sammy or VH, it's a great place to vacation.

Definitely go! You DO NOT need to be a Sammy/VH fan to have a good time. There is plenty to keep you occupied. My fiance and I have been there twice in the last two years and we're going back next year.

The first time we we're there we met a guy who owns time-shares in the same hotel we stayed in. He hooked us up with a better suite in the same hotel on our second trip, for less than half of what we paid the first time!He owns timeshares in a few different resorts and rents them out. PM me if you want his info.

now that I'm married and got a kid on the way we're thinking of going down south next January and Cabo is an option. Can anyone tell me (1) if the place if kid friendly and (2) what are the main attractions down there. I'm not a all a resort guy - most of my vacations have been in Vegas up to this point or other places with tonnes of shit to see.
