    Default Ticket Brokers for tour

So far, ive called 6 different brokers and NONE of them have any info on a tour, tix, etc.
This doesnt mean anything negative, but if anyone does find a broker w/ info, list it here.
Also, what brokers/ sources have you used or do you normally use when you want the good seats?

I haven't used a ticket agency in years for concerts. If I somehow fail to get the kind of tickets I want for a show on Ticketmaster, I go through eBay. Between more shows having arena GA floor setups, more bands I like playing smaller, GA style venues and fan clubs offering reserved seats to members as well as prime seats being put on sale the day of shows, I'd say I get about 75% of my tickets through TM or the bands themselves these days.

If you know what you're doing as far as buying tickets through eBay sellers, you can get some great deals and speaking for myself, I've never been burned after buying about 40 - 50 concerts worth of tickets through eBay sellers in the past 7 or 8 years.

Regarding ticket agencies getting scoops on concerts, they all get their info the same way we do, which is through various internet fan sites, mailing lists and industry gossip. Up 'til the late 90's, many agencies had more exclusive industry inside info but in the past decade with every "insdier" in every facet of the music industry blabbing on line about bands, tours, etc, everyone hears the same info about the same time.

Ticket agencies are getting to be a dying industry since people are more savy to procurring and selling tickets themselves as well as bands and Ticketmaster taking advantage of the fact they can jack up their own best seats and special packages and basically scalp their own tix for retarded prices. When a band like The Rolling Stones sets a price of $500 for a great seat, how is anyone going to confidently scalp that kind of ticket and make a decent profit? And many bands hold out lots of their best seats for day of show sales specifically to cut down on scalping and to insure the venue sells the shitty seats first when tickets first went on sale. You take a big loss on a handful of $500 tickets, you're fucked.

Back in the 80's, I probably bought 90% of all my concert tickets through agencies and scalpers the day of shows. I almost always made sure I was sitting in the first 20 rows on the floor to every show I saw as well. I probably put some scalpers' kids through college. Or supported their drug habits.

    pert-

i did well with ebay for the san diego show, which was the only show i used brokers for.

i mean, i paid more than probably double the price to sit where i did, but i loved my seat location and got the tickets promptly.

george930 has used brokers extensively. shoot him a pm or see if you can catch him on IM. i know he has reccomended stubhub.

you'll see the brokers are kind of like an underground network, a mfia like kinda thing. most of em have all the same tickets for sale, they work together. in other words, what you'll find at tickets.com, yer likely to see at gotickets.com. prices will just vary slightly.

I miss the days of waiting in line at your nearest Ticketmaster. Got to see some interesting people. I remember everybody had the scoop on which ticketmaster had the best tickets.

Now its just click and pray.

Ive used stubhub and love it. ive used brokers when neccessary. All i know is that im NOT willing to spin the wheel for this one. I want the up front tix and im willing to pay, so i want to make sure i get those tix!

The ebay part, i never even heard of til this thread.. how do these ebay sellers get the good tix to begin with and do they get them ahead of time, etc?

And do u trust ebay enough or are there specific brokers on ebay?

thx for the input so far fellas, i appreciate it. My normal guy retired after 2004, so im back at square one..for now
